This is not correct. The Conviction aura breaks immunities and then you are able to damage enemies with that element.
It's possible you're getting confused with the -55 to enemy lighting resistance stat that appears on Infinity. In that case, this -resistance only applies to the damage that your merc deals.
I thought that the aura is applied when you are near it? why isn't working. oh because it applies to the enemies, and not as a friendly aura, thus affecting the merc only?
You will benefit from the aura since the immunites will break for you too. However you don't benefit from the lower resistance. Also Conviction does not break all immunites, some need Lower Resist added and some immunites are near to impossible to break.

I know that fire and cold are too high on % for Infinity to break.
But can anyone verify that convictions from Infinity works on my damage as well as the merc?
I don’t understand. Some people say there isn’t. Some say there is. Anyone can verify what’s going on?
Edit:
Now I understand.
The -55 for lightning in Infinity works for the merc. But the aura for me as well thank goodness
bump.
If you have sunder charm, how it works then. Charm works first, lowering res to 95%. Then Conviction kicks in, but only 1/5( 17%), is this correct? Then you need other items like Griffons eye or Ravenlore.
Can someone comfirm please, thanks.
It's been discussed several times, but to sum up :
- For NON Lightning immunes (works same for other elements but for the example I'll stick to light) :
> Sunder does nothing
> Conviction works full power, so does all your gear that lowers res (Griffin, Facets, if you self wield Infinity also).
- For Light Immunes
> Sunder lowers at 95
> Conviction works at 20% of normal so lowers at 78
> Other gear works full power (Griffon, facets, self wield Infi...). If for example you have 2 facets at -5 each the final immune monster's light res will be 68. Which leaves already plenty of space to do massive damage, but surely not as much as if you add a Griffon or a Crescent Moon.
Hope it's clear ?

if you manage to break immune of lightning, it'll work for your merc and not your sorc for example?
you have to wear that stupid pole arm yourself?
it's a strong rw and it's actually pretty good for a Nova sorc. having that said, Infinity has less and less use cases for me.
you can imagine that this rw is godlessly overhyped.

Can I have yours? I never had one, but on paper it looks ridiculously good, I want to see it in action ^^
To OP: to add to the resst, I think Lower Resist also works just 1/5 power if immunity was broken, just as Convict Aura or Cold Mastery.
