Description

I can't seem to access Blizzard's official website for Diablo II Expansion, aka
Arreat Summit
, at http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/ anymore. How about you?

Is there an official alternative?

Can be used to make Runewords:

Same here, just tried.

https://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Main_Page is a good alternative, I reckon.

Sooo,
Arreat Summit
has finally died, huh? Likely, Blizzard simply forgot that the server even exists and it was just happenstance that it had been working up until now lol.

I'm in CET (Central European Time), so that's UTC+1 normally and UTC+2 during DST.
My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.

Yeah the
Arreat Summit
site has been pretty unresponsive and slow for the last few years. We used it as a reference for a lot of stuff here and got so fed up of the load times that we ended up sourcing an 'offline' version we could run on our local computers :)

I'll share that offline copy with you guys here for now, seeing as the official site is down atm: download/arreatsummit2017.zip 47mb

Instructions:

Unzip the arreatsummit2017.zip archive
Open the html folder
Open the classic.battle.net folder
Open the diablo2exp folder
Open the index.htm file in your web browser

Voila, your own offline personal copy of the
Arreat Summit
! Remember to bookmark it so you don't have to go through the subdirectories again. Please be aware this is intended solely for personal use, as an offline backup copy of the original site for when the Blizzard servers are down.

You may want to provide some more details such as what the error says, etc, so that others may help you troubleshoot.
