You can achieve the same with the /nopickup command and hiding/showing the labels of the items on the Ground.

cows multiplayer, crowd, a lot of items on floor. i want to see what drops as soon as it drops. i dont want to pick something accidentaly that will fill stash and when something good drops then i'm not able to pick it fast.

To be honest the best thing that could happen is that Blizzard implements some system of loot filtering. All the trash would be hidden and only the good stuff would be shown.
