I crafted my first ever Insight polearm and Spirit sword for my Hammerdin and got lvl 17

Meditation Aura and 33% fcr. Not as exciting as a

Ber drop, but I am quite happy with both.

Probably the single luckiest game ever. First found an Andy

Helm by pindle, then

Gul, then

Jah from shenk, then a

Baal drop rare ethereal

Demonhead with triple durability... That last part really stings
(Uniques can't drop again in the same game)

Hey there, i haven't posted anything on forums yet but i've started playing d2r in late november.

I got all my stuff by grinding real hard and trading most of it, but lately i've been staring at a

Zod, a

Cham, a

Ber, a

Lo and an

Ohm rune wondering what to do with it, since i've made or own pretty much every "big" runeword.

I got a few really nice drops in the last months that i'd like to share.
What's special to me is that many of these happened on the same day and i swear sometimes it kind of feels like they have a lever in the server room at blizzard that determines how good the drops are that day. Some days i got lucky and it just felt like i had to keep pushing since the odds were good that day.

so when i was still mf'ing and trying to gear up, i was running

Ancient Tunnels in mf split games with a blizz sorc and i got 2 really nice unique drops in one day.
first:

Eth reapers toll (235%ed and 15ll) - that's 5% ed off perfect.
about two hours later i dropped an coa with 2os, 15%dr and 23 allres. the allres was low but still a really nice drop, even more so because the def roll was pretty high (around 140 i think).

a while later i was running diablo and

Baal, when i found an

Sur rune (throne) and a short while later an

Ohm at Chaos.

The third time i had a "good day" i was running cows with my javazon and i first dropped a

Jah rune. literally 2 runs later i was getting the leg in

Tristram and a shaman dropped me a grand charm. +1 blizzard skills and +31 life.
about an hour later, a happy little cow presented me with a

Lo rune to finish off the best day of d2 i ever had.

and last week i found an 15ias/40ed jwl which i traded for 3

Ber. This kind of blows the rest of what i just said out of proportion, but it didn't feel as satisfying as the other ones =)

I played classic d2 and propably did like a billion andy and meph runs (not even joking).
the highest rune i ever dropped was a

Vex rune in a random run i was testing an awkwardly geared hammerdin.

with d2r however, it feels like i got rrreally lucky with rune drops.
The only runes i haven't found yet are

Zod and

Ber.

i read a lot of the posts in this thread and it does seem like some people get luckier than others...but also it's about speed and putting the grind in, and sadly enough, not really expecting anything in return...dry spells are common and you kinda forget about those when you read all these posts here.

The Countess, 2-3 times to the cowshed, and 1 more time to my favorite locations - usually this is the maximum. I also look at what has

Fallen for a very long time - I still don't know much about the value of objects. In the same 2 hours, the "lucky ones" will make, for example, 100 runs in travinkal. Naturally, even with less luck, their "catch" will be much higher. But, here everyone has their own - everyone has their own style of play, their own goals. I just love this game for the joy that it gives me with its rare gifts.

The other possibility of failed uniques/sets is when the game rolls an item/quality combination which does not physically exist. I always check the rare drops from boss drops to wonder the possibilities...
An example would be "Unique quality"

Colossus Sword. You'll just get a rare version with triple the durability. Double durability means failed set item.
