A Very Edge 'y Summoner

So running my alt as a summonmancer and was struggling with act bosses (specifically Duriel on normal). Got past him after a few deaths (and many rejuve potions and the Sacrifice of several dozen clay golemns). Got to lvl 25 and realized that allowed me to run the Edge Edge Bow (Edge rune word on an Edge Bow) I had made for my main, (a WW money maker barb). Well, apparently a lvl 15 Thorns aura works really well on a summonmancer, I mean I can't wield any best in slot weapons with it, but having 8 skelly's, 1 (lvl 1) Clay Golem, and a Prayer act 2 merc. I managed to kill Mephisto in 2 hits (both his), after cursing him... if I am right he was taking ~16x his own damage on each swing and my skeletons couldn't defend so the Thorns proc'd.

At least, that's all I've been using Edge for -- it's a nice cheap runeword, cool that you were able to use the Thorns! I've also got a Harmony on swap for quickness.

Thats why I made it in the first place... but then I was like, " Thorns does physical damage", " Iron Maiden does physical damage", " Amplify Damage doubles (sorta) physical damage"... but I can't curse the same target with both Iron Maiden and Amplify Damage. but I can have Thorns aura and Amplify Damage.

Not to mention this is mostly just a stop gap till I can spam Corpse Explosion...

Yes you can also try act 2 merc Thorns with Amplify Damage. Helps kill Mephisto fast but there are better options later. I only like this option for killing bosses, so not worth it regularly.

Later on I prefer Holy Freeze instead of Thorns, even for a Corpse Explosion build.

well, this did basically nothing for Diablo... so I am going to have to re-think my build a bit...

so Decrepify is still better than Thorns for all the bosses, and Corpse Explosion better than Thorns for crowds... but hey, Thorns was pretty fun.

this is pretty well know. Thorns and Iron Maiden are great for normal.

Yeah, and you have to make it through normal some how.

Thanks to the Bow you can have both. Or did you mean Iron Maiden instead of Thorns?

well, to make better use of Corpse Explosion and Decrepify, I switched back to a Wand/shield with skill boosts. but I was also running Amplify Damage, because Thorns damage is physical. I probably could still use the bow, but it isn't as necessary
