Kelpie Snare is one of the best weapons for act 2 mercenary survival. especially useful on hardcore mode against act bosses. When the mercenary can't life leech the slow effect will help him survive while you kill

Mephisto easy. Some bosses, like

Baal, will pretty much just sit there and die if you get enough slowing effects on them. Use the act 2 defense mercenary from nightmare for additional

Holy Freeze slow effect.

I just dropped one after killing diablo today, changed the Obedience to

Kelpie Snare. Although the damage reduced consideraly, My merc became more tanky. Already has

Andariel's Visage as source of life steal and with 50% FR os

Kelpie Snare offsets the -30 FR os

Andariel's Visage.
