Oil Potion
A throwing potion which must be equipped like a weapon before being thrown. Oil potions deal instant fire damage and are more potent than Fulminating Potion or Exploding Potion.
- If you find multiple Oil Potion on the Ground, you can open your inventory before picking them up to prevent them from combining into one stack. Then, each individual potion can be vendored and rebought, giving you several full stacks.
- Throwing potions ignore Attack Rating calculations, meaning they always hit their target. This can be useful if you encounter a monster you are struggling to land attacks on.
To quote user LuckyAce's very helpful comment from the Rancid Gas Potion page:
[Minor Changes in 2.4]
When used with Double Throw and Throwing Mastery on a Barbarian, this potion can now be thrown infinitely despite its very low quantity. This is due to changes made to Throwing Mastery in patch 2.4, specifically:
- % Chance to Replenish Quantity on Critical Strike
- % Chance to not Consume Quantity
When Throwing Mastery is Lvl 25 or higher, the chances to replenish quantity and not consume quantity is greatly increased.
