It Should Be Illegal for Super Rare Drops to Be This Bad

I've been on quite a dry spell, which is fine...regressing to the mean after some pretty decent luck, and I also don't play as much anymore.

So I've been doing pit runs for a while and the first decent item just dropped! A unique

Spired Helm!

I quickly look up

Nightwing's Veil prices and start day dreaming - if it rolls well it could be worth an

Ohm!

Then I identify my

Helm and it's a

Veil of Steel.

Seriously, what is the point of this

Helm? This must be one of the most trash-tier elite uniques in the game. Outrageous strength requirement, and I would wear a

Peasant Crown before I wear this...haha

Just wanted to vent a bit, I thought I broke my dry spell but alas I did not.

I just found one myself. I was hoping for a nightwing too, but my luck was no better than yours

You ever get a unique

Sacred Armor to drop and just to be let down with templars might ? Or a an

Eth demonface thinking itll be andariels visage but its Blackhorns Face every time.

I've only seen White sacred armors, so no. And also I don't care about

Tyrael's Might because it's not really that good =/

And Andy's Visage is a

Demonhead but

Blackhorn's Face is the exceptional version.

The exact same thing happened to me. Dropped unique

Spired Helm with my blizz sorc and was super psyched.
I had no idea there were two unique Spired Helms

Did a quick research for you:

Spired Helm,

Sacred Armor,

Thunder Maul and

Legendary Mallet are the four items with two possible outcomes. For anything else there is just one outcome like shaco is always harlequin quest

I put the

Veil of Steel I dropped onto my act 5 merc- He has the strength and low resists to make use of it.

Brings Lawbringer to the mix to deal with physical immunes for my Fury druid needs.

Honestly Blizzard must have studied addiction psychology while making this game.

They should make a unique

Diadem that is also trash tier

I really feel your pain, since i am and many many more also are in the dry spell right now.

I have the same feeling every time I identify a unique ring.

Veil of Steel acutally used to be one of the first Unique Items that were created for the Diablo- Universe:

- It used to be quite a powerful helmet in Diablo 1, adding +50% all ress which was among top of top in D1
- It had its own graphics skin
- it was implemented in a pretty cool quest including Lachdanan, one of King Leorics Knights, who became corrupted by the influence of Diablo himself

But still, youve got every reason to be disappointed, because in D2,

Veil of Steel is no good.

When I happen to find one, I am always reminded of Diablo 1, the cool story and everything, but honestly:
Why do most Uniques of Diablo 1 suck in D2? Players who loved Diablo 1 would like to see those returning Uniques to be strong!

Personally, I would have liked to see Arkaines Valor as strong as it was back in LOD V1.08! Because it simply was the coolest Item in Diablo 1, with the Story of the holy Warrior Arkaine, who had hidden his Armor beyond the Gateway of Blood and past the Hall of Fire...

To this day, every time I put on the Arkaines Valor ("the", because there only is one), I speak aloud "May the Spirit of Arkaine protect me", just as the Diablo 1 Chars did when you put it on. I really dont want people to be disappointed when the good old Diablo 1 Stuff drops

Same is true for many other items.

It's the same with most D2 items in D3, will be the same with D3 items in D4. I'd like the idea of a bunch of items beeing powerful all over franchise.
Guess they just want to add items with new mechanics instead of the same over and over again, kinda understand that.
But yes, there is that items you've used 20'ish years and it is a dissapointment to see, when they're not that strong anymore.

Scourge dropped - didn't know there are 2 of 'em... Until I identified... guess what I rolled... hint: it was not a

Stormlash....

Inconsistent unpredictable rewards are way more addictive than consistent scheduled rewards so... you might be onto something...
