Do we know the damage value of "Ignore target's Defense"

No data yet

Description

As in the subject of the post, do we know how much damage to add to any weapon with Ignore target's defense? If you wanted to compare two weapons, one with lower sheet damage but had ITD, and one with higher, how would you rate them short of putting them on and trying to kill the same type of mob? Is there math we can use to prove that one is superior to the other?

Can be used to make Runewords:

Ignore targets defense allows you to hit the monster and bypass their defense. It doesn't increase your damage dealt.

It's EXTREMELY useful. esp for Hell because you need an insane amount of attack rating to hit anything.

https://diablo.fandom.com/wiki/Ignores_ ... 7s_Defense

"Ignores Target's Defense modifier is found on various Unique Items and can also be added to a weapon by Socketing the
Jah
rune. The name might be somewhat misleading, in that it actually does not mean that you will always hit the target. It means that the target's defense is set to zero, so while your odds of hitting are greatly increased, your Character Level is also factored against the target's level, and the actual to hit percentage will depend on how that formula plays out. The greatest to hit percentage possible in Diablo II is 95%.

The chance to hit is calculated by following formula:

100 * AttackRating / (AttackRating + EnemyDefenseRating) * 2 * AttackerLevel / (AttackerLevel + EnemyLevel)

If we Ignore Target's Defense, it will simply change to:

200 * AttackerLevel / (AttackerLevel + EnemyLevel)

This means that if you still want to hit enemy with 95% chance, your level can be roughly 10% lower than the enemy level.

Ignores Target's Defense does not work in player versus player, and does not work against Act Bosses either for that matter. If a hireling is equipped with any Ignore Target's Defense item (such as desert mercenary with
The Reaper's Toll
), it has no effect either. "

All very useful advice... but doesn't really answer my question.

I realize that it doesn't increase damage, but when comparing one weapon to another, you only have the stats on the weapon, and how it effects your paper doll damage.... of course, if you're going to be looking at boss damage, it's not a factor, and obviously, when comparing two weapons with the same or very similar damage, the one with ITD would be superior (all other things being equal)...

Good example -
Lightsabre
vs Etherial
Demon Limb
. How to compare the two of them?

Lightsabre
is the better choice here but you have to factor in multiple things. So there is no clear cut answer for all items. This is what makes D2 itemization so great, the choices aren't clear.

Ignore targets defense is insanely useful but
Lightsabre
is also a
Phase Blade
which has a [-30] attack speed indicator. So its also faster on top of having better affixes.
Demon Limb
is a
Tyrant Club
and is only [0] so its a lot slower. Use the IAS calculator here when making your gearing decisions: https://d2.lc/IAS/

Exactly! Now, I'm using the
Lightsabre
, because it's got a couple of things I like more then the
Demon Limb
, and when put into practice, they both seem to clear at about the same speed on my zealot... however, I figured I would come here and ask after a search on the internet to see if the question (and the math) had already been done. However, I still would love to be able to validate my opinion with some type of hard data (if there is any) in regards to which of these weapons is superior. Perhaps vs bosses it's the
Demon Limb
, perhaps they are about the same... I just don't know...

I literally showed you in my last reply lol. Its attack speed indicator is much faster and therefor you'll hit a lot more often. ESPECIALLY with ignore targets defense. and its also better for bosses because itll cause CB to proc more often.
