Ghoulhide is the dark horse among them for certain physical builds in the majority of areas in the game when the character type isn’t reliant on the ias or fire resistance from

Laying of Hands. One of these types is the dual Grief

Phase Blade

Whirlwind barbarian, at least when said barb is not pulling the

Travincal slot machines.

Areas with higher ratios of undead/demons and many others with a more equal distribution favor use of

Ghoulhide based around undead frequently having higher physical resistance than demons and oftentimes being leech resistance and thus preferential to dispatch. Grief’s large enhanced damage against demons and their relative weakness to physical damage creates a balanced approach usually optimal for clear times and survivability.

Furthermore, the mana leech on the gloves frees up at least one affix on the barbarian’s other equipment, typically a ring, providing much more flexibility for a slot which is often seeking dual leech and fcr on a single ring, a highly improbable roll especially when considering all 3 are suffixes.
