Bing Sz Wang can be seen as the older sibling of
Shadowfang and the younger sibling of
Azurewrath, providing a considerable amount of physical and especially cold damage given its level, with the added bonus of a 5% chance of casting
Frozen Orb on strike.

It deals a significant amount of damage for its level requirement. The fact that it also includes a -30% to requirements stat makes it a weapon that can be easily used early on by a variety of characters and builds, while most high level unique weapons cannot.

Fun fact: The name of this item is likely derived from the Chinese words "Bing Zhi Wang" (冰之王), which translates to "King of Cold".

Bing Sz Wang is a similar and more powerful weapon to the
Shadowfang unique
Two-handed Sword (somewhat like the
Hexfire vs
Hellplague unique swords), providing higher damage output & lower damage loss while single-hand wielding, but without the life & mana leech that
Shadowfang provides. It has half the chill duration as
Shadowfang, but adds 2 to Freeze Target and provides much more cold damage. Both swords help with preventing monsters from being revived, as they shatter and leave no corpse when killed while chilled (20% chance) or frozen (100% chance).

Note that monster chill & freeze times are 1/2 as long in Nightmare difficulty, and 1/4 as long in Hell difficulty. Also, if the total chill time from all gear is longer than the result of the Freeze Target calculation, monsters will stay chilled after unfreezing.

An interesting build could involve a Barbarian dual-wielding these after them being upgraded and socketed with a cold facet, though cold immune monsters would definitely be an issue due to the fairly low physical damage output and lack of any other elemental damage. This also means the weapon isn't very viable late into the game.
