Does weapon Attack Speed affect Merc attack speed

I found a 5os Cryptic Axe and wanna make Obedience for my A2 Merc, but it is slow attack speed.
Will that make Mizan attack more slowly than a polearm/ Spear with fast attack speed?

Alternate question, what is the best option for Obedience for a Merc?

No doubt, it was so hard to find it but once I did, it changed the game. F threshers. Lol. Its everything you wanted to know about merc weapons and IAS.

That link is amazing. I heard (from mrllama i think) that faster attack speed - GT is better for survivability of your merc because he leech more life in battle.

I have Insight in Cryptic Axe and Infinity in GT - honestly I dont see any difference. Sadly Cryptic Axe is superior Eth while GT is normal version. Huge difference in numbers. But merc is needed for item stats. As nice as his high dmg looks like. It is ussually irrelevant compare to your character because you do way more dmg. Ofc for sorc Insight in Cryptic Axe is nice vs immunes - i havent tried Infinity with sorc yet. If Infinity can break countess resists then i will kill her faster than merc with Cryptic Axe.

Imho what is more important is Fortitude.

What i found funny was fact that me vs friend we did some pvp java vs java he has those Ber items i had cheaper versions so I was missing few % here and there. If we Charged Strike each other it did very little dmg. But killing merc was way harder

But I am not searching for max numbers so I dont know how it works at that point. When u buy cheap base then imho it doesnt matter
