Cant make an account

Steps to reproduce:
just try making an account
Anything else to add:
every time i try to make an account it times out and gives me an error, 524 i think
when i reload the page and try again it says the username is already taken which doesnt seem right, i tried my battletag which someone is very unlikely to have used and that still says taken. Idk if the error is making it think that name was already taken or what but I cant make an account lol
