Description

1. Do on-Death effects (like Rainbow Facets or such) benefit from your gear? I am not sure when the unequipping happens. If I drape myself in -enemy fire res, will my on-Death
Meteor
benefit from that stat?

2. Do I gain experience when I'm dead?

3. Do offensive auras linger, even if for a few seconds, after the character applying it has died? Is this on a bus schedule (aura application status is checked once every which frame) or is this per case?

I picked up a fair number of Rainbow Facet lately and it reminded me about that joke build I thought about before - a Sorceress who may only attack by dying. It won't work if on-Death effects do not benefit from gear bonuses, though. And reaching the required levels for the gear might be really hard if dying prevents me from gaining experience!

Can be used to make Runewords:

Interesting question! On (1), it seems as the item bonuses should count as you would otherwise unequip also the item that gave you the on-Death effect before the effect procs, leading to a logical issue. However on-Death effetcts might well be handled entirely separately from other proc effects.

I'm skeptical that you'd get experience though, especially as you would otherwise lose experience when dying in hell.

A related question is (4) whether you get the effects of synergies to the on-Death skill. It is possible that if you are dead, it is not "you" casting the
Meteor
anymore (from the game's pov, depending on the implementation).

Either way I think one should get these effects, otherwise we should see it as a bug. I tried once to kill a difficult TZ mob by dying and proccing lvl 100-something (don't remember which skill or item, or if it was a 22 nights of
Terror
thing, it was a while ago). The result was disappointing, the blood lords (
Frenzy
guys, not the vampires) were back at full health by the time I came back for my corpse.

My hunch is that the synergies would apply, seeing as dying doesn't modify my own hard points on skills. But then again, there are some oddities in the game. Perhaps this is something I should test by dying a lot.
