Description

Hey all. Normally I prefer to get my own socket quests with HF Paladin and using different items like Sigon shield, +HF Scepter etc. but I'd like to learn your choices if you're running a self-done socket quests with HF Paladin.

The most fun I've ever had with a Holy Fire starter is Kinemil's Awl, although the level req is kind of high if you are stopping at the socket quest

Holy Fire + Raven Claw was how i did my sockpuppet paladin, which has since ended up becoming permanent and respecced to FoH.

The claw has a Flawless Ruby in it, making it a perfect early levelling booster in general. Especially when combined with several +fire dmg charms.

I usually use Sigon's gloves, Belt and Boots as my starter kit in general, and if suitable, with the shield added. That lets you have a minimum of 50% MF even for a beginner character which can provide nice extras sometimes.

For Helm and armor, i use 3 socket Mask and armor with no level requirements and only 30 Str req, with three 20/2 psn dmg jewels each. Chosen because they have no level requirements, so you can equip them at lvl 1.

Also, for early starters, if desired i have a Small Shield with zero reqs with another 2 psn dmg jewels.

120 psn dmg in 2 secs kills pretty much everything with 1 hit when starting out, and when you switch to something better, you can let your merc use them instead.

And especially when playing Holy Fire paladin, the combination of Raven Claw explosive Arrows and that poison dmg gets you quite far very very quickly.

Oh, and until you get level 15, you can combine the above with a bow socketed with 3 chipped or Flawed Topaz or emeralds.
Chipped has no lvl reqs, but the first few levels are so quick that the extra damage doesn't matter.

If you want more and easy MF while levelling, you can go with Angelic armor+amulet+2 rings.
Not optimal, but +1 to skills and +100% MF from items most people throw away or give for free.

If you want an early upgrade for the explosive arrow damage from Raven Claw, you can equip 2 parts from the Cathan's set and get an extra 15-20 fire dmg. Barely nothing once you get some Holy Fire levels, but might be nice early on. (and a lot more useful for non-paladin characters)
