DClone at Ancients ?

That's kind of a stupid test, but has anyone ever tried to pop DClone at the Ancients?

I suppose it is technically possible : you need to be aware beforehand and put a TP on

Arreat Summit.

When screen shakes you can go there. But then ?

- is Dclone here before touching Altar ?
- if not, does he replace an Ancient, if yes which one (perhaps depends on where the TP is?)
- do the other Ancients attack him (that would be cool!)?
- what happens if you use a TP in the fight ? If he despawns does he leave the Anni ?

It's a stupid idea, granted, but taking DClone + 2 Ancients can be a challenge for bored players ! ^^

If you are that bored, DClone is no longer a challenge, and so the ancients...

==> He will replace 1 for the 3 ancients. You will have to fight DClone + 2 ancients.

==> No, they will all attack you.

==> I didn't test. IMO Dclone should not despawns because he is not ancient.

I 've just tested this, he despawned without anni

Sacrifice. I was also really interested in knowing this.

I heard that you can kill DClone instantly in the

Chaos Sanctuary if you setup seals correctly (spawn him instead of some boss pack, trigger the seal, which kills all monsters in

Chaos Sanctuary). Is that still valid in D2R?

I think it had been patched to avoid easy kill ?

I was really wanted to know that is why I tried it.

I don't know. IMO it should works since seal pop trick is still works.

It shouldn't.

The difference is that seal-popping actually kills everything in CS whereas TPing at ancients doesn't kill anything, it just resets them. He hence definitely shouldn't drop an anni. The real question is..if you trigger them again after the TP, does he spawn back in as well or does he just get lost?

I asked myself the same question minutes after quitting the game
BTW fighting 2 ancients + DClone is not a good ideal

Nevermind then. Misunderstood you. Thought you were saying "TPing ancients should kill him for the same reason popping seal does".


Quitting = bad juju...ended up AFKing in the non-ladder run earlier today, came back and wondered how well my sorc would currently deal with him. Decided to switch...quit...tried to get back in..."cannot connect to server" over and over until the game finally closed. Boo!

I nearly matched my oldest DClone-only speedkill personal best but I lost time trying to chase down

This upload was a little annoying because I had to jump through extra hoops to get the audio approved on YouTube (I was fully aware of this and read the terms of use on TheFatRat's video before uploading, which is why I use a copyright-free playlist when I record gameplay). I'm keeping the video unlisted until the claim is approved and released by his multi-channel network though.

Anyway, I'm sure this could become a speedkill benchmark too if

Madawc is always the one that's replaced, but

Talic's whirlwinding makes it a bit more challenging to get a flawless run.
