Description

Summons a powerful Valkyrie ally.

Casting Delay: 0.6 seconds

A Valkyrie is much more powerful than a Hireling and you can create one whenever you have enough mana.
You can only have one Valkyrie at a time.
Valkyries have a glow about them so it's easy to pick them out.

Their attack is a Melee Spear attack.
Valkyries can have other abilities as the result of the magic spears and armor they receive when they are created.
These items are level 25 plus 3 per level.

This means that they could potentially have almost any ability normally attached to a Spear or armor.
Valkyries work very well with Ranged Amazon attacks such as Javelin, Bow, and Crossbows.
A Valkyrie is great to use because like a Hireling, they will Attract Melee Monsters which will reduce the number of Monsters that are directly attacking you.

The Valkyrie will also draw fire from ranged Monsters which further reduces the amount of damage you're taking at one time.
Valkyries are very powerful and become more powerful as you spend more skill points.
Valkyries can also take advantage of Paladin Auras or any other beneficial party member skill or spell.

You can Heal the Valkyrie via a Town Healer, a Paladin's Prayer Aura or you can simply cast a new Valkyrie.
Don't be afraid to recast your Valkyrie to reposition her closer to the enemy. With % Mana Steal items, you can quickly recover the Mana.
Combine Valkyrie with Decoy to reduce the amount of damage you take.

Sometimes Valkyries may have Immunities on higher difficulty. You may wish to recast Valkyrie until you get one.
Its armor will have a random color each time you summon it.


Hidden Stats
  • Resistances
    The Valkyries' resistances are equal to their level * 2, to a max of 85. So a level 10 Valkyrie will have +20 Resist All. Valkyries also get a hidden synergy bonus from Decoy, where every physical point in Decoy will add +2 Resist All. The whole formula comes out as = ( Valkyrie level + Base Decoy Level ) * 2
  • Magic Level
    The equipment that a Valkyrie is spawned with is based on her Magic Level, i.e. the ilvl that her equipment is spawned with, therefore denoting which mods can be spawned. The Magic Level of any Valkyrie is equal to a base of 25 at level 1, and increases by 3 for each level.
  • Dexterity
    Valkyries receive a bonus of Dexterity of +12 per level. A level 12 Valkyrie will have 144 dexterity points. Valks gain bonuses of attack rating and defense much like any character, but this is not reflected in their skill description.

Valkyrie Health = 440 * (1 + 0.2 * ( Valkyrie level + Decoy Level - 1))

Synergy Skills
The Valkyrie gains Synergy bonuses equal to the amount of base skill points you have placed in Critical Strike, Dodge, Avoid, and Evade. For example, if you have placed 1 point into Avoid, the Valkyrie will have a 24% chance to Dodge a missile.

The power to summon a Valkyrie is the greatest honor that an Amazon warrior can receive.

It is believed this gift is a sign that your place beside the Goddess is assured when you pass from this world-perhaps even as a Valkyrie.

Thanks to the Passive and Magic skill tree, I feel like I have more customization control over this summon's stats and abilities than all other summons in the game. Easily my favorite summon.

Also, it looks/feels pretty cool to run a Spearazon, Valkyrie and an Act 2 Mercenary all at once. Triple spears!!

The Runeword Harmony (missile weapons with 4 sockets) grants a lvl 2-6 Valkyrie Oskill.

Oskills can be used by any class, but the skill level bonus is limited to 3 levels for the native class. Oskill levels can be increased like native skill levels, including "+skill (native class only)" bonuses.

When summoned, a Valkyrie will become equipped with equipment that increases in both number and power at higher skill levels.

At slvl 1, it will spawn with a rare Spear and rare Full Plate Mail. At higher levels, the Valkyrie will spawn with magic Gauntlets (slvl 2), Greaves (slvl 4), and a Plated Belt (slvl 5). By slvl 12, the Valkyrie's weapon and equipment will all be exceptional quality items.

The Valkyrie will acquire a magic Amulet at slvl 13, and a magic Circlet at slvl 14.

At slvl 16, the Valkyrie will upgrade its Chaos Armor to Sacred Armor. At slvl 17, the Valkyrie's Lance is replaced with a War Pike. Over the next 10 levels, the exceptional magic equipment will gradually be replaced with elite-quality rare equipment, culminating with the acquisition of a rare Tiara at slvl 27.

These items are rolled at random with an ilvl of 22 + (3*slvl), the standard qlvl for the item type, and an Affix level based on the two.

A Valkyrie has extremely potent health regeneration, regaining approximately 7.32% of its health per second. Source. At high slvls and with heavy investment in Decoy, this regeneration combined with the Valkyrie's potent resistances would result in a minion that is extremely durable.

Slvl 2 : adds Heavy Gloves (Magic)
Slvl 4 : adds Heavy Boots (Magic)
Slvl 5 : adds Heavy Belt (Magic)
Slvl 7 : upgrades Full Plate Mail to Chaos Armor (Rare)
Slvl 8 : upgrades Spear to Lance (Rare)

The Valkyrie gains different pieces of Rare and Magic equipment based on her skill level. The items come with random bonuses, so every time you cast the Valkyrie the bonuses on her items will be randomly chosen. These exact item stats cannot be seen except with a third party program which I won't mention in here.

Important breakpoints for the damage output on Valkyrie are slvl-8 (when she gains her Lance) and slvl-17 (upgrade the Lance to a War Pike).
Important breakpoints for the tankiness on Valkyrie are slvl-7 (when she gains her Chaos Armor) and slvl-16 (upgrade the Chaos Armor to a Sacred Armor).

The Valkyrie can appear in different colors, depending on what bonuses were spawned on her armor and weapon.

Armor:
  • Light-Gold Armor - normal, no enhanced mods other than + light radius
  • Dark Gold Armor - 24% Faster Hit Recovery
  • Pale Gold Armor - 66-80% Enhanced Defense
  • Orange Armor - Attacker Takes Damage of 4-6
  • White Armor - +x defense based upon the skill level of your Valkyrie and your character's level
  • Blue Armor - chance to cast Frost Nova/ Nova on being struck
  • Dark Red Armor - Poison length reduced by 75%
  • Red Armor - Huge +life bonus, and almost a double regen rate
Weapon:
  • Blue - Chance to deal cold damage. Potential use of a cold skill on striking
  • Teal - Chance to deal lightning damage. Potential use of a lightning skill on striking
  • Green - Chance to deal poison damage
  • Black - Enhanced damage modifier. Life leech is also a possibility
  • White - Large bonus to AR. Think "Fools" mod
