Impale always hits similar to using the Paladin skill

Smite when facing Ubers. A Spearzon can effectively defeat Ubers using this skill and the added slowing effect further helps in doing this. With

Life Tap, appropriate resistances for

Mephisto, and a

Teleport amulet to separate the Ubers, an Amazon using this skill can even defeat the Ubers using budget gear. The high damage modifier is also useful against other elite monsters.

When looking for a different character besides a Paladin with Grief or a budget summon Necromancer subject to minion AI difficulties, the Amazon can efficiently slay Ubers with as little as only 15 percent crushing blow from

Gore Rider

Boots.

Impale is one of those skills that never really shined until D2R but now it’s worth the investment depending on whether or not you want to have a physical Spearzon with added utility outside of PvM.
