Description

This is the famous 'eth bug' or 'ebugged' cube recipe: if the body armor is Ethereal, not only does it keep its original 50% enhanced defence for being Ethereal, but it will gain an additional 50% more defense after using this recipe.

The body armor being used must not be of superior quality, must not be low quality, and must not have any sockets already.

This recipe also rolls a number between 1 and 4 (based on the ilvl of the base item, and therefore the maximum possible number of sockets), and gives that number of socket(s) to the item.

Gaining two sockets will allow you to make an e-bugged Prudence, 3 sockets means you can create an e-bugged Duress, and 4 sockets allows you to make either Stone or Fortitude. These are great on mercenaries.

If the item being used is not ethereal, the recipe will act normally and just provide the random number of sockets.
All ebug recipes:

Recipe: Add Sockets to Normal Body Armor
(Ebugged Body Armor)

Recipe: Add Sockets to Normal Helm
(Ebugged Helm)

Recipe: Add Sockets to Normal Shield
(Ebugged Shield)

Note by KanePortnoy: Bugging ethereal armors for 50% of extra defense by adding sockets with cube only works for Legacy Diablo II, not Diablo II Ressurected.

If base armor has max sockets of what you require, use socket quest instead for guaranteed desired amount of sockets.
