Hello all,
Trying to make sure I have a complete and accurate list of Terror zone “breakpoints”. I’ll update this post if I learn anything new.

Character lvl 83 (TZ lvl 85): champion packs and uniques can drop all unique and set items in the game.

Char lvl 85 (TZ 87): All enemies and non-super chests can drop all uniques and sets in the games.

Char lvl 87 (TZ 89): uniques and champion packs can drop 45 life GCs.

Char lvl 88 (Tz 90): Amulets dropped by champions/uniques can be used by the lvl 88 char to craft +2 skill amulets.

Char lvl 89 (TZ 91): all enemies and chests can drop 45 life GCs.

Char lvl 90 (TZ 92): All amulets dropped can be used by the lvl 90 char to craft +2 skill amulets.

Char lvl 91 (TZ 93): terrorized act bosses have dramatically increased odds of dropping TC 85 and 87 items.

Char lvl 94 (TZ 96): max Terror zone level reached.

Is this list more or less complete? Also, when you hit level 91, supposedly terrorized act bosses drop a lot more TC 87 items. But what about NORMAL enemies and champions/uniques? Do you get any more TC. 87 from them as you level up, or once you unlock the possibility of TC 87, does the probability stay fixed? It impacts a grailer/mf hunt a lot if TC87 becomes more and more common as you level up, or if it just stays fixed.

(what about chests?).
Normal chests & poppables, yes. Super chests follow their own rules though.

No, you need char level 90 (TZ 92) for this due to rounding. When determining the result ilvl of a craft, you take half the char level and half the input ilvl, but both are rounded down before adding, so 89/2 = 44.5, which is rounded to 44, and 91/2 = 45.5 which is rounded to 45, so the total is 89 and that's too low.

Thanks, updated the post. I still really, really want to know if a level 96 terrorized normal monster has any increased chance of dropping TC 87 than a level 87 terrorized normal monster. I’ll try to look it up later if Ican’t find an answer here.

If there’s no loot benefit to pushing Terror zones past level 93, then for some builds (for example, builds which max out all synergies by level 91) it will actually be desirable to Cap your level at 91 via periodic deliberate suicide to prevent monsters from scaling up any further in life/damage.

I think it does.

Maybe @War The Wise (who made the above topic, and also the YT video linked in it) can clarify.

You’re confusing two different things.

Let’s start with the basics - for an amulet to be able to roll +2 all skills, it needs to be ilvl 90. And when crafting an amulet, it takes half your character level (rounded down) plus half the input amulet’s ilvl (rounded down).

The difference is in how you acquire the input amulet (the blue amulet to put in the cube) - a drop from a mob, or gamble.
  1. If you are level 90+, you can use any amulet dropped in any TZ of your own making. When you’re level 90, TZs are 92, so a random amulet that drops will be ilvl 92 (or higher if it dropped from an elite). If you craft with that amulet you get result ilvl 91 because 90/2+92/2=91.
If you’re level 89 then you can only use amulets that dropped from elites or minions, not trash mobs or poppable objects.
  2. If you want to gamble an amulet you need to be level 93, like you say. When you gamble an item, the item’s ilvl will be randomly selected to be a number between 5 levels below you and 4 levels above you. At level 93 that’s 88-97. Since it’s random and you can’t tell, you need to assume it’s the lowest possible. Okay, so, again, when crafting you take half the character level and half the input item’s ilvl, in this case the result will be 90 because 93/2=46 and 88/2=44 and 46+44 is 90.
If you’re level 92 when gambling there’s a 1/10 chance that the amulet is level 87, causing the craft result to be ilvl 89, which is too low.
The advantage of the first method is that you can start crafting at an earlier level but the downside is that it requires you to actually find amulets that drop from chests or monsters.

The advantage of the second method is that you can just gamble more amulets quick and easy, as many as you want, as long you have Gold.
