Can be used to make Runewords:
shall i keep a +2 necro sk / +3 Iron Golem Wand?
i want to build a Poison Nova necro someday, with a strong (and survivavble
) Iron Golem buddy. how is Iron Golem lvl defined, at the time of casting, at the game start like the warlock's demon, or something else?

and one more question, does the physical dmg rediction of Slow Missiles work on ranged attacks only or on all physical dmg?
Yes. Keep it in the stash and use it if you want to make a new IG.
As far as I know: The physical damage reduction applies when you are hit by monsters that deal ranged physical damage and are affected by Slow Missile.ganseng wrote: 1 day agoand one more question, does the physical dmg rediction of Slow Missiles work on ranged attacks only or on all physical dmg?
So, no, it does not work for melee monsters since Slow Missile does not affect them.
The IG is "recast" when you enter the game, so you have to swap to it every time you leave a game.ganseng wrote: 1 day agoshall i keep a +2 necro sk / +3 Iron Golem Wand?

In addition, extra points in IG bring almost nothing (15 def iirc) so it does not really matter. What you need is Golem Mastery to make him more survivable. If it had +5 Golem Mastery, I'd keep it. With only 2 Golem Mastery Spirit is as good and Hoto is better.
Playing HC SSF right now.

thx.. and do only hard points count on Golem Mastery and Summon Resist, or also soft points?vued wrote: 18 hours agoThe IG is "recast" when you enter the game, so you have to swap to it every time you leave a game.ganseng wrote: 1 day agoshall i keep a +2 necro sk / +3 Iron Golem Wand?

Additionally, if you want to make your IG more survivable, instead of boosting IG itself, you can put hard points in Blood Golem. For this only hard points count.
But usually a poison necro does not have many spare points...

i reckon I'll need ~70 points into the three poison spells + curses (not sure I even need Lower Resist). WOuld 30-40 points be enough for a beefy buddy? (not like the one I had from Metalgrid
)

You don't use the king of all necro spells, the major damage of all necro builds, faster and deadlier than all the other spells?ganseng wrote: 16 hours agoi reckon I'll need ~70 points into the three poison spells + curses (not sure I even need Lower Resist).
-res will be around -100 from the gear (50 dweb 25 trang 20 three facets), so maybe the king is not neededmikelessar wrote: 14 hours agoYou don't use the king of all necro spells, the major damage of all necro builds, faster and deadlier than all the other spells?ganseng wrote: 16 hours agoi reckon I'll need ~70 points into the three poison spells + curses (not sure I even need Lower Resist).
Why do women say nothing is wrong when you both know something absolutely is?
Because rom coms taught them that with true love come mindreading abilities. So its their test whether you truly love them.Rhaegar86 wrote: 9 hours agoWhy do women say nothing is wrong when you both know something absolutely is?
If this happens to you, don't blame them, blame Hollywood. You can try fixing this unrealistic expectation and explain that communication is Key to a happy relationship.
Sometimes when they say "nothing is wrong" they just don't want to talk about it right now. Then you should wait and pick up the topic later.

I think Mike is referring to Corpse Explosion.ganseng wrote: 14 hours ago-res will be around -100 from the gear (50 dweb 25 trang 20 three facets), so maybe the king is not neededmikelessar wrote: 14 hours agoYou don't use the king of all necro spells, the major damage of all necro builds, faster and deadlier than all the other spells?ganseng wrote: 16 hours agoi reckon I'll need ~70 points into the three poison spells + curses (not sure I even need Lower Resist).

ah, I understand that king isn't needed either, at least on p1vued wrote: 2 hours agoI think Mike is referring to Corpse Explosion.ganseng wrote: 14 hours ago-res will be around -100 from the gear (50 dweb 25 trang 20 three facets), so maybe the king is not neededmikelessar wrote: 14 hours ago

Yes, Corpse Explosion. Well, it might not be needed. But it makes clearing 3 times faster. It's just the strongest original D2 + LoD skill there is. With no other skill pre-Mosaic and pre-Warkock can you kill the whole screen in 2-3 casts. (Maybe Lightning Fury in some situations).
For my poison necro in p1, partial Trang-Oul's Avatar + Death's Web, Enigma, Corpse Explosion only slows me down in-between packs (everything on screen is dead before i can switch and start casting lol)
Off topic, not sure why so many are using Spirit tbh! Poison Nova doesn't need fcr and 75 is just fine for Teleport imho

Poison necros only use Spirit as temp, if at all. You want a DWeb and 3 piece trang wing.kerph wrote: 1 hour agoFor my poison necro in p1, partial Trang-Oul's Avatar + Death's Web, Enigma, Corpse Explosion only slows me down in-between packs (everything on screen is dead before i can switch and start casting lol)

The uniques don't die that fast with poison. If you blow up their minion's corpses with CE, you are faster than waiting for poison to do its job.kerph wrote: 1 hour agoCorpse Explosion only slows me down in-between packs (everything on screen is dead before i can switch and start casting lol)
But ok, I mostly play at least P4+, that's where the power of CE really shines. I cannot imagine playing a "powerful" Necro without CE.
With LR and CB on Merc, you don't need that long to kill bosses. Not the fastest and you have CE anyways, so you can use. But you don't have to invest extra points if you don't want to. I played both variants, they are both viable.mikelessar wrote: 1 hour agoThe uniques don't die that fast with poison. Also: CE is not stronger on higher levels. The damage dealt is based on base monster health, not on player count adjusted monster health.

I know. But poison is weaker on higher player counts (same damage but monsters have more life) and CE is the same (its damage is linked to the monsters' life), so CE is relatively stronger than all other Necro skills the more players there are in a game. Static Field and Crushing Blow work the same.vued wrote: 1 hour ago
