False Accusation

Just made a trade. Won't mention the counter party, although he commented on the trade accusing me of being a scammer, so you can search for it there. He wanted to trade Cham + pgems for a Lo, I offered a Lo straight up.

We just traded a few minutes ago in a game I made. Lo for Cham in the trade window, easy, nothing odd going on. Said thx, put the Cham in my stash and exited the game. When I got back to the main diablo screen, I noticed I was disconnected from the EU servers and it wouldn't let me connect. I exited Diablo to restart it. Saw he put WTF in the chat window.

Asked him if something went wrong, and mentioned I got disconnected. He said don't play dumb, accused me of being a scammer, and escalated from there, while I tried to tell him I hadn't done anything, and I don't have some super secret hack that lets me take back an item after it's traded, and I have 200+ trades here. Asked him to double check his stash to make sure he didn't put it somewhere weird, but he just kept accusing me of being a scammer.

I might have just offered him a free Lo if he was insistent about it, but not jumping to conclusions so fast and just accusing me and calling me a scammer and not listening. But the whole thing was weird, and it was a bit insulting that he just insisted I was a scammer.

Anyway, that's what happened from my end. Welcome him to tell his side here if he wants.

Looks like the rune has been correctly traded, as the other party has edited his post to admit so in the trade thread.

With the transaction mechanism, it is unlikely that a trade through the trade window is capable of getting things done "half way", so to speak. The transaction either goes through or it doesn't, there's no such a thing as one party getting an item while the other missing a payment.

I've had a few instances where I didn't notice I ran out of keys and thought I didn't get a rune from a trade only to find it in the Key spot--given, I check thoroughly before flipping out, but honestly, after all the drop scams and scar tissue I've got from pre-LOD, I usually just pass off a bad trade as whatever.
