Can be used to make Runewords:
i guess same reason as Eth Scythe Infinity - Stylish
Speaking of practical use of Decrepify, I never used it tbh, can't think of an use case of it, for all there Magic damage characters Pal, Nec, Lock.
[Edit]
I sold 2 Void Stiletto exactly the same stats 3/3, 1 Eth and 1 non- Eth, the Eth was sold nearly x2

You'll clear stuff much faster if you use more chains! Abyss is very limited for me, chains + bolt spam. Even more so since the patch. Chains is the bulk of the build's damage!departure wrote: 6 days agoIs see you rolled a 3 Abyss in a 3 Abyss. I'm still looking for a +3 Abyss base. I have a +3 chains base, which I've considered using. Obviously the way to go is to find +3/+3 for those, but I'm on single player and unlikely to come across that one for a long time.Fin-Hifi wrote: 1 week agoI started my journey with a Abyss warlock, but switched to fire one as i felt that clear speed was not great, my gear was sub optimal ( Shako, Spirit sword, maybe arachnids mesh)
Then I made Void, and it rolled good, so decided to give another chance and dam this wrecks.
I basically have endgame gear, tough Belt and book could roll a bit better.
Diablo(TZ) dies under 2s, just whip chains across the spawn point. Most mobs also go with just one Abyss cast.
Currently 91lvl, nothing too major in the skill tree, maybe that I don't use binding at all, extra points in Consume and demon mastery to get 2 summons.
What's your gear like?![]()
I figure Abyss gets cast more, and so the base should probably cater to that. But I'm not actually sure.
Style > function, I guess. I find Decrepify quite useful. Half enemy attack speed and half physical damage = 75% reduction in enemy effectiveness. Granted, rarely needed for a powerful character, but still nice to have in the back pocket IMOLoTra wrote: 6 days agoi guess same reason as Eth Scythe Infinity - Stylish

Ethereals need 10 less dex/str.
Daggers often have high dex requirements and you usually do not want to put any points in edx as a warlock.

Playing HC SSF right now.
Hell completed: Sorc, Druid, Paladin, Ama, Assa, Necro, Barb
Iron Man (Paladin): Nightmare A1

In the current state, Abyss imo.
Abyss is actually decently balanced and hence benefits from additional skill points in a noticeable way.
Chains atm is so broken that you're hard pressed to spot any difference anyways as you're just going from "complete overkill" to "complete overkill" (or "nothing" to "nothing" when the target-dmg bugs out again ~~).
In some possible future patch where chains becomes more balanced and hence actually benefits in a noticeable way as well..who knows. Just both at that point I guess.
Most skill points saved comes from + Hex Siphon and possibly Sigil Death, both of which are one-point wonders, in addition to +3 Abyss. Those are what I'd use (and am).

OP
I only use chains at heralds and bosses, as Abyss is so much easier to cast and control. Damage is solid and usually takes just one cast.okker wrote: 6 days agoYou'll clear stuff much faster if you use more chains! Abyss is very limited for me, chains + bolt spam. Also Sigil Death helps.
I appreciate all the suggestions. I don't know if it affects how anyone feels about it, but Traderie seems to rate +3 chains over +3 Abyss in terms of trade value.
Since it's superior, I have a little bit of time to think because I'm out of socket quests. So I have to level a sorc before I can make it.

I can rush a socket quest for you this weekend if you want. I haven't done it yet with another person but I've gotten it in well under an hour just doing it for myself nowdeparture wrote: 6 days agoI appreciate all the suggestions. I only listed traderie values above to give a feel for how the market was responding to the different bases.
I was offering to do it for free but that's cool toodeparture wrote: 5 days agoI appreciate the offers. Very kind. I would take you up on it if I were playing an online character.
ahh thats right
Finished leveling my sorc to hell for another 3 socket quests. And........
Luck was kind. Very kind.

I've been tooling around in Terror zones with the Abyss/chains build using the Void above and a bound demon for a little while, and I've landed on a weird spot with my merc.
At first I tried Prayer/Insight/coh/Cure. The merc kept dying to heralds. I figured this was due to lack of damage, so not enough leech. My thinking with that was that the caster is way more powerful than the merc in this case, so the merc should really just be supporting the caster. But the merc dying was slowing me down.
So I switched to a damage based build. I went might/Insight/Fortitude/andy's. The merc no longer had a problem, but my health was all over the place. A super poison would leave me burning rejuvs. A few big hits and I'm popping more juvs. Then some folks die and siphon gives me life back. The whole thing was very unpredictable and felt quite precarious.
Instead of addressing that, I switched to a max damage build to see how much siphon was offering (in case I wanted to double down there). I went with might/Pride/Fortitude/andy's. Now my merc and bound demon were ripping things up better, but my health AND mana were all over the place. The potential of Abyss/miasma was wasted because I couldn't get into the mix effectively. This was probably the most frustrating to play.
I wanted to get back to a more maintained/speed style, so I switched to Prayer/Insight/Fortitude/andy's. This seems to be the right balance. It sacrifices might, but in exchange I keep my life and mana topped up, which lets me unleash a lot more damage. Ultimately I'm cruising with this build.
I really want that Flickering Flame aura to maximize magic find (offsetting fire res charms). But I think I need andy's to keep the leech going. The merc still dies with this build occasionally. But not often. The main use of rejuvs is for the merc against heralds.
Thoughts?

Sorry to be an annoying a1 shill but, i really like Insight bow + Flickering Flame + Chains of Honor or whatever armour u like. I don't have to worry about my own resists since i use Obsession so i also use Cure or Delirium
She doesn't do any damage, but she never dies and keeps Meditation up with pretty much zero interaction which is just so nice
