The game sometimes repeats the current status in the game chat. In my experience it usually happens when the connection to the chat server is lagging or being unstable, so it's also more common to see it on other regions than your home region (due to higher ping/latency). You typically see messages in the chat saying "You have left channel: Lobby/Trade" right before these repeat status "updates" in the chat.
