Can be used to make Runewords:

Bind Demon nerf is lame. It's cool to have a summon that actually does some non negligible damage to help.

It's not that the demon is needed for fire or Echoing Strike builds or the damage makes a huge difference, it's more that it is just satisfying to have a summon or helper that is actually more than just a Decoy or aura stick.
Let's not sell the horse, yet. The "nerf" isn't meant to resuce the list damage of Bind Demon, just the miscalculation they were making out of copy/pasting code from goats (as I understand it).

For example, my Lvl 54 Bind Demon is meant to give 3404 flat damage and +860% off damage (I think). Add lvl 13 Fanaticism (+303%) and lvl 8 Concentration (+160% from my garbage Mist roll), and demon is now doing (3404 + avg 100 Lancer base damage) + 1323% (=46358) = 49862 damage per hit before resistances and curses. E.g., sundered physica lmmune = ~2500/hit at 95% physical resist. Not amazing, but not horrible. Would take 7-8 hits on a Stone skin P1 Blod Lord Frenzy cow (much more on P8). Of course, proccing Amp Dam would one shot them.

Still oretty good, but also shows importance of Amp Dam for your demons.

I am going to try a xbowlock build running Atma's or Witchwild (or both) to proc Amp Dam myself with Mirrored Blades. Should keep my Demon hitting very hard.

thanks for sharing. interesting with tweaking the uniques, would also do it sequentially, because you of course piss off people who have the old versions in perfect rolls. would make sense to start with the high level items to give people more time to accumulate the new versions, but i guess they are testing the water here.

as for the changes themselves, it's a mixed bag. angelic set and Manald Heal are already great options, nice to see them getting even better. battlebranch, The Ward and Bane Ash could become somewhat usable now. and both bow updates are just middle fingers, remain as useless as they were
Seems more like another step in that "trying to make early to mid game gear more worthwhile" effort, akin to what they've already done with many sets in an earlier D2:R patch. Many a high lvl unique really doesn't need any changes after all as they're perfectly fine and often BiS as they are. Given, some of those do kinda suck as well by comparison but nowhere near as much as the early to mid game stuff.

And a change like "added socketed (1)" just screams "we're not looking at endgame, we just want to add something early/mid to save you from blowing your Larzuk socket along the way".

Though FRW on manald is actually kinda hot and does make that somewhat tempting even for certain (albeit few) endgame builds.

The "ladder only" part is weird though, seeing how they didn't artifically limit it in the last round of changes. But oh well..gotta have something be different on ladder I guess, what with the RWs finally rolling down.
Tyrael's Might really should be THE BiS for someone. How about if it randomly rolled a +1 skill from a pool of options, including Teleport?

I'm guessing this means that Mania, Hysteria, Metamorphosis, Ground, Temper, Hearth, Cure, Bulwark will all be available in (create-able) in non-ladder. Can someone confirm?

What about the following bit?

Or does it mean that these items will be available in both non-ladder and ladder, but the extra stats are only available in ladder?

A VERY long list.

At least 50% of higher uniques need a rework. I'm not saying they should be better than runewords (which is arguable with extremely rare stuff like Tyrael's Might, which should rank even with Fortitude or CoH), but they should hold some use cases. The goal must not be powercreep, but variety.

Stuff for A3 mercs is the first thing that comes to mind. Several Shields/Swords get an aura?

Some items have 0 stat variety. There's a lot of room.

For low items I also accept: Perfect Amys, Ral, Hel, Tokens, Keys. Please don't offer runes lower than Pul (with the named exceptions).

As far as I can tell, it's simply that the ladder only runewords are now available everywhere (NL and L), and the new modified items are only available on ladder.

All trades are negotiable within reason :)

Increased the chance of dropping Rare quality and higher items from Herald Tiers 3+.
Minimum drop level for Latent Sunder Charms increased from 69 to 75.
Reduced the drop rate of Latent Sunder Charms when using Magic Find. Note the Herald drop rate is unaffected.
Latent Sunder Charms dropped through Magic Find now only drop in Hell Difficulty.
An additional item will now drop alongside a Worldstone Shard.
Reduced the drop rate of Worldstone Shards.
Reduced the drop rate of Ancient Statues.
Increased loot for heralds: Yes! Fighting heralds is fun and the loot was nothing but sad.

The Sunder change is the opposite of what players need. We need old sunders back, dropping on nightmare! Playing ladder is a chore. Big "Boooh!" here.

Well, let's see. Can't say much before I tested it by myself. Any single good sounding thing could be fucked up in some way.

But I am really happy to build Cure now in NL. One thing that for sure isn't bad.

Might have to wait and see there.
The runeword part seems clear as that's just the usual rolling down to NL, making them craftable there.

The uniques/set adjustments however, I don't think we've ever had something like that be split between ladder and non-ladder. If history is any indication, it'd be "all or nothing", meaning they can't drop on non-ladder at all anymore. That would however be a first with regards to "removing something from non-ladder for the sake of ladder". I guess there is the possibility that they're actually splitting it now, allowing for the old version to drop on non-ladder and the new version to drop on ladder, confusing as that may be. We shall see.

What I mean is that this bit, concerning sets and uniques, is really ambiguous in their patch notes:
Blizzard wrote:

Does that mean that these items will no longer drop in NL at all? Or simply that the modified versions of the items will only drop in L, and the 'old' versions will still drop in NL?

Common sense will tell us that it's the latter, but the way they've worded it could also mean the former :/

Hence the "we shall see". We really don't have a precedent for that one to base it off of. Anyone's guess at this point.

We will have to wait for the patch on the 18th to verify.

The updated game files will tell the truth - if (a) the items are simply marked as ladder-only (which is a flag that has existed since D2LoD but has been unused in D2R except for rune words), or whether they (b) duplicated the items into one L version and one NL version or (c) added more columns to the item definitions to define ladder-only mods so that it’s technically the same items just having different mods depending on the game mode that dropped it. I think (c) is the least likely here.

Yes. We need more variations on uniques, or variations during upgrade of uniques. That will make people collecting this and rolling for something good or godly.
Adding flat stuff doesn't make much sense. it will either make item BiS at once shadowing other gear or item will remain trash. Renewed trash.
I totally love what they did with sunder charms in terms of many optional rolls, Opalvein, new stones. It pushes you to play more. And let's you buy junk ones cheap if you need them.

Things that are described as "ladder only" will also apply to offline play, right?

And do those changes also effect D2R or only RotW?

Typically, yes, offline works the same as ladder as far as items are concerned.

For that 2nd part, no, the notes specifically state "RotW only":

I could also be greedy and protest the correction, but my Lvl 54 stabby girl is so insanely strong, I tend to agree with the nerf--that said, I am running nearly perfect BIS for demon prebuffing, so in Principle that *should* be an insanely strong demon.
I actually completely agree. My issue is that the demon tree is so light on points/gear investment that the difference between ur 54 pt lancer and a 25 pt one is only really felt on bosses (in p1 at least)
I think Bind Demon should really get another damage synergy, maybe on Engorge, plus sharper damage scaling in general so there's more of a point to stacking skillers etc. The difference between best-in-slot and fresh character now is really underwhelming imo. I think it would also be nice if Summon Defiler scaled more and wasn't a waste of points to max
I think the high end of the demon tree should stay the same and be allowed to be very strong but that the baseline needs to be brought down a lot

Could not disagree more 😅 with Gheed's Wager it fits thematically, but with renewed sunders etc it just feels forced and unsatisfying. What makes d2's itemization so great imo is that your drops actually have meaning. I think it's good for rare drops to be expensive, it's not compelling to me to drop them just for them to be most likely garbage because of their roll. Vs a Jah rune is a Jah rune no matter what

In spanish patch notes appears Obsession instead of Mania. What do you think?
