Gambling circlets at lvl 92 costs around 90K a pop after Edge&gheeds. You can sell back the misses for 15-20K on average, so each try is ~75K
10% will be rare.
So, if you don't mind the base (

Circlet,

Coronet,

Diadem), you will get ~13 rares per 10M /

Ist. Compared to 3 rares per 18 skulls /

Ist. I think this (~13 vs 3 chances) is what Departure is aiming at.

Two more things to consider though:
1. When gambling, You can also get magic, set, and unique items (incl. Griffon)
2. Gambling has a wider range of iLvl so it's harder to control if you are aiming for something very specific.

I usually like using everything I farm myself. I use my own skulls and

Gold and don't sell them. But I also don't (or only seldomly) buy them.

I reroll GCs with PGs, Amethysts go into caster amulets, and skulls in rerolling diadems.

Make Edge in a

Short Bow or in another normal base, so that all your chars can use it. And it should only have 6 (2x3) instead of 8 inventory slots.

As with CtA, utility is king here, you will never want to deal damage with it. You can use it on DClone for preventing his health regeneration, but you don't have to do any damage doing so.

Same, but I reroll GCs with skulls as well. Mostly I'm looking for blue 3/20 circlets anyway. Re-rolling a

Circlet only costs 3 pgems, so I could go that route, and I guess I will once I get all stacked up with skillers. But for now, GCs are the best bang for the buck. Hopefully I'll have found my blue circlets by then through gambling.
