I am somehow obsessed with builds that are a bit off. Previously I made and Infinity for my summoner's merc, so I can make more damage with Firewall from Trang Ouls. And I was very happy with it until a Herald 5 one shot me and that was the end for that character.
I guess I want to make a viable Poison Dagger build, because one of my very first playthrough attempts way back decades ago was exactly this. I think this was even pre-LOD. It was horrible, by act3 normal I couldn't kill anything and i was dieing all the time.
So, this build will be kind of my Redemption arc. Here it goes:
- Main premise of the build: using Poison Dagger to deliver ling term Venom damage.
- Due to Venom being the main damage, I do not level the synergies of Poison Dagger (because why would you use this, if you also have Poision Nova to max synergy?) this frees up 40 skill points for maxing Bone Armor and synergies, some points in Lower Resist and some points in Skeleton Mastery, so I can at least have a few revives to kill the act bosses
- Goal: complete Hell in Hardcore. This build would not be able to do anything else anyway
- Must have items: Treachery, 3-item Trang Oul for the +poison damage - poison res
- weapon variants: Malice, for cheap open wounds and target armor. Gull Dagger, for mf, Wizzardspike, for defensive stats. The Jade Tan Do, for cannot be frozen and poison immunity. The Blackbog Sharp for +5 skill points. Wind and Plague, if i want to go completely insane with this
- Corpse Explosion, prefer not to use, becausewhy should the game be easy, when it can be hard.
- This build will be a hit and run, when you poke monsters once and run away from them, while waiting then to die. I estimated level 15 Venom with the double +25% dmg from the gloves would deliver 11k over 10 seconds. This should one shot most of the small monsters, but A4/A5 demons will be a problem.
- Anything else: open for suggestions.
