Hard lesson about Colossal Ancients and Cliffs

Tonight was the night. Went in with my brother's summoner necro to fight the colossal ancients for the first time. We had enough statues for two rounds. First round was a bit of a dookie show. My cursed/cold immune/fire immune/mana burn (ugg) P8 unique urdar with

Holy Freeze went in with me. Necro died a lot and had to go out for more revives for each ancient we killed. My urdar nearly died several times, especially against

Madawc who was the one we wanted to kill last. We killed all three with only several necro deaths, mostly in attempts to regain bodies. Lightning jewel, bad roll.

Next game, Urdar did a bit better. BTW, we littered the Ground with full rejuvs. I'll be spending the next few days restocking.

Madawc in a

Bone Wall prison smashed to the Edge of the map, and when he died, he dropped nothing, no jewel, not accidentally picked up (he was sitting right here, I saw his inventory). Nada.

So, PSA, don't kill your last ancient on the very Edge of the map. Now to find more statues...

I encountered this bug (no jewel drop) as well during the non ladder when ROTW was just launched.

What i did was exit my game, and then rejoin the same game. (i created my own private game)

I was able to reactivate the ancient fight again and jewel did drop on the second fight.

Unrelated but I can give you some rejuvs if you need btw. (also. Now that i've tried it, i really recommend cold/lightning immune

Although at that point we had cleared all maps of Urdar for revives, so there wasn't much fuel left for the necro. I don't think I could solo them.

Thanks, that's so nice! I'll be okay though. Still plenty of rejuvs, and I'll just terrorize a game and be back up to full stacks. Time to work on chronicle anyway!

I will be hunting down a cursed/ lightning enchanted one soon. I had a series of unfortunate demon losses, mostly due to silly mistakes, and ended up with the one I have now as a quick-ish solution for our ancient runs. None! Although I understand they are ideally suited for ancients, at least from a melee class pov.

I only do warlock. I played the other classes in the early days and came back for the lock. Initially it was so I could make Lister my little minion (take that,

Baal!), but now I love running Urdar or Lancers, the katter being my favorite for map clearing and the former for ubers.

As long as you have +280 all res (Treachery + charms most), with

Guardian Angel and

Dracul's Grasp, you are more than ready. For cold res, you can take many

Thawing Potion like 10 to boost cold res and max. That's about it. Now you can face rolling them all together.
