hi friend. I lost many characters in HC, i can tell you prioritize safety. sometimes the game is not fair and you will lag and die. sometimes it will be your overconfidence. i noticed as i power up, when my character becomes too powerful, i tend to become overconfident and lose them
Managed to do this in my youth xD. Max block summon necromancer was the only one for me.
Lost many chars while being too agressive, not using a shield, teleporting blindly into championpacks and so on. Skip Puppets, skip souls if your light res is not maxed out (first priority). This is all just standard.
The most important thing: Stay patient!
I guess the warlock is not too different from a Necromancer. Have not played it too much yet.

another relatively safe route is to grind Throne of Destruction like crazy in multiplayer games
Eh, you gotta be very careful about public games in HC. It's not unheard of for griefers to host runs without issue, make everyone feel comfortable, only to dump a dirty TP many games into the run series. Never enter a TP first. Never click a TP without reading where it goes. It's just as important in the first game as in game #20 or #50 in the same series... Someone might be happily hosting Baal runs but then turn around and ruin your day (week/month/year) with a dirty TP at level 97 or 98...

You could also find a community to run together - like the TLD discord (see: forums/motj-on-discord-has-disbanded-an ... 63814.html) is a mostly non-ladder focused community that host runs together. The softcore side is much bigger than the hardcore side, but they do have hardcore players too.
