Can be used to make Runewords:
I've found a +2all, +3nova orb. Is there a way to add 2 sockets in it? Resources online do Confuse me. I know i can get 1 with Larzuk, but is there a way to obtain 2?
it's a toss up, u get either 1 or 2 sockets from Larzuk
HC RotW
White Items- It get's complicated... ;-D
Orange items - also 1.
Like in every other Nova Sorc thread that we have here and in all there are to come:
Just use a self-wield Infinity because nothing beats the minus enemy light res. A cold Sorc has minus enemy cold res as a Mastery (so Doom is not mandatory and DF is a strong choice, too), but a Nova Sorc really needs every point it can get and Infinity can grant up to -55% to enemy light res. This can easily triple your damage for sundered monsters. No other weapon even comes close.
OP
Hi, the point was if I can make some value with it, not to use it.mikelessar wrote: 10 hours ago

Concerning self-wield, yes it's the cheapest way to have an effective endgame Nova Sorc build. But I think, experimenting with other builds is one of the beauties of the game.
In Rotw you now have Guardian's Thunder and new Renewed sunder charms, so for example, self-wield is not BIS for DPS or MF or tankiness. [Faceted Mangs' + Jewelers' plate w/4 facets] does more DPS to sundered AND non sundered, same does [2os faceted +3nova/+3 light skills blue orb + 4 facet JMOC/JMOD + Ormus]... With [+3Nova Obsession, Enigma, +3 Light amulet of Luck] you can rival self-wield damage to sundered while getting close to 400MF...
The real added value of self-wield (which I'm now experimenting with) is the flexibility with your merc to optimize for heralds hunting (you are not forced to have him wield Infinity and can go with act5 merc for example).
3x regular gems + magic weapon in cube?
OP
Doesn't it reroll the item?
I see no way how a faceted or even Ancient Jewel Mang's (an awful weapon in my experience for a sorc) with only +skills and +damage but no minus enemy res plus shield should ever be better than a -55 enemy light res Infinity.
But I recently had an argument with someone else about damage numbers and it's no good arguing about it, even if you show the math. Few people can be convinced, most stick to their opinion. That's just the zeitgeist, the little Trump inside most of us. (No offense! I wouldn't always except myself from it, either.)
So, I won't try to convince you.

Yes, it rerolls. Worse, the ilvl is extremely low, so even theoretically there is no chance for a good output.
3 Standard Gems (normal) and 1 Socketed Weapon (Any Type) = 1 Socketed Magic Weapon (of same type)
This takes a socketed weapon and makes it a magic socketed weapon with a random number of sockets. This allows you to get new magic bonuses on an otherwise non magical weapon. The original weapon properties will be removed (rerolled) when the new weapon is created. ilvl = 30. It gets 1-2 sockets.
3 Chipped Gems + 1 Magic Weapon = Socketed Magic Weapon
This adds sockets to a magic weapon. The original magic weapon properties will be removed (rerolled) when the new weapon is created. If you use this formula with a weapon that is not normally socketed such as a Javelin, this recipe will create a new magical weapon without any sockets. ilvl=25 magic weapon with 1-2 sockets.
3 Flawless Gems + 1 Magic Weapon = Socketed Magic Weapon
This adds sockets to a magic weapon. The original magic weapon properties will be removed (rerolled) when the new weapon is created. If you use this formula with a weapon that is not normally socketed such as a Javelin, this recipe will create a new magical weapon without any sockets. ilvl=30 magic weapon with 1-2 sockets.
That are really expensive and rare options you are talking about.Cracume wrote: 8 hours agoHi, the point was if I can make some value with it, not to use it.mikelessar wrote: 10 hours ago

For Herald hunting my current merc choice (for fire Warlock) A1 with Insight +Cure +Gloom.
She still gives auras, removes curses from me and herself. have resists and curses ranged mob packs with blindness. Most important she is not as suicidal as Emilio.
A5 merc had small value for melee Cleave warlock in my case (Sazabi set +Lawbringer). No use for a caster after respec(Warlock or Sorc -same)
As already mentioned, Larzuk gives 1 or 2 sockets (50 - 50) for magic items on items that can have 2 or more sockets.Cracume wrote: 8 hours agoHi, the point was if I can make some value with it, not to use it.mikelessar wrote: 10 hours ago

But I would not waste a Larzuk in this orb.
You got 2 all skills (from affix) and 3 Nova (from property).
Properties can have 3x3 individual skills (incl. light mastery) and a magic item can have pre- and suffix. Best combination is 20 fcr and 3 tree skills for obvious reasons.
With that combination you can come up with cobfigurations that can compete with Infinity.
But your orb is lacking, at least the fcr.
Playing HC SSF right now.
