What if an enemy has no magic res? Does that mean the -% to enemy magic resistance functions like % increase to magic damage?
Can be used to make Runewords:

0 res
-1 res = +1.5% skill damage
You need to look into if it is already negative res. In such case 1=1
But...if you can kill that in 1 shot...there is no meaning to add more damage.

No, typically a monster cannot go below 0 resistance, so any -% to enemy magic resistance does nothing to those monsters.
it can, -100 is Cap.jrlafrance wrote: 4 hours agoNo, typically a monster cannot go below 0 resistance, so any -% to enemy magic resistance does nothing to those monsters.

unlike other resistance. most of monster cant reach -100 Cap, unless you target some nightmare monsters.
(maybe only cold can touch -100)

Hmm, what's your source, I've never heard of this.leox wrote: 4 hours agoit can, -100 is Cap.jrlafrance wrote: 4 hours agoNo, typically a monster cannot go below 0 resistance, so any -% to enemy magic resistance does nothing to those monsters.

The specific section can be found directly above the page Summary:
-xx% Enemy Resistance and Pierce can both apply to a target if they are not Immune, or have their immunities broken by another source. The total Resistance reduction is the summation from all sources. Reminder that this cannot lower a monster's Resistance below -100%, any reduction >199% is redundant.
I'm not playing D2 as much as before. I'm too lazy to edit all my trade prices. Offer me something reasonable and I'll probably accept.

also , ask google ai , in d2r, what is max -magic resistance Cap?
--- I also find another truth about current world--
in current equipment , can it reach -100 magic resistance?
No. With the current equipment available in Diablo 2: Resurrected, it is completely impossible to reach -100% magic resistance on an enemy, nor can you even get close.

that doesnt change the theoretical Cap. The Engine allows resistances up to -100. That there is no gear + skills that can generate -100 is not the point.leox wrote: 4 hours agohttps://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo_2_Resur ... esistance/

A monster having -100 to res x will take twice the damage. So if you have item that provide -5% magic resist and monster having 0 will take 5% more damage. A Monster having 50% magic resist will take 10% more damage (its going from taking 50% of damage to taking 55% of damage which is 10%). An enemy that got 90% resist wil take 50% more damage (going from 10 to 15 percent)
yes, this opinion is right.AndreABG wrote: 1 hour agothat doesnt change the theoretical Cap. The Engine allows resistances up to -100. That there is no gear + skills that can generate -100 is not the point.leox wrote: 4 hours agohttps://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo_2_Resur ... esistance/

for magic resistance, all we need to do is max it. if there is choice between -1 magic resistance vs +5 magic skill damage, always choose -1 magic resistance.
The most common case is
when you set up a budget, like 10 Jah. That you have to calculate it carefully to achieve max - magic res. ( Ars Dul'Mephistos, Sling, sunder, new jewel, Helm 8)
