Description

So, I started to gear up my java a week ago SSF, just missed Enigma, Griffon (ofc), torch and sunder, I realized there is a
Cap
on what I can kill, so it seems I need to do TZ, but in order to do TZ I need a sunder, wich is mostly drop on TZ, so i cant go in mostly any TZ with light inmunes, but I need to farm on those places to get the sunder, I dont know if this is just stupid design or Im missing something.

I know Sunder can drop for anyone, even on nightmare, but after a couple of hours grinding I get back to Hell, cause drop rates are insane low even tho.

So, can someone gave any tip or help on how to go foward in this insanity?, should I just go for boring farming runes to trade or are any decent places aside cows to get the next step.

Thanks :)

Can be used to make Runewords:

tz areas that have few lightning immunes

HC RotW

i would proceed with https://maxroll.gg/d2/guides/lightning- ... azon-guide -> roll down to gameplay / farming spots and check those with no lightning immunity...as suggested on maxroll, buy a
Lower Resist
Wand
from nightmare
Drognan

but in case of RotW, farming sunder charms is difficult....in standard LoD was not su much difficult, even good to get some high runes on sell in case of good roll

All trades are NON-LADDER softcore only, occasionally LADDER, check every trade

do NOT add me on bnet before making actual offer, thank you

Yeah do tz areas with little to no lightning immune mobs, and or go to pub and buy the legacy LOD lightning sunder for an
Ist
.

I think u can get one for free if u dont care about %, if u want a -70% lod light sunder, those goes for maybe a
Lo
?

U can also make a trade post on d2
Io
asking for lod light sunder,

Good luck

Can trade on PC or SWITCH

OP
There is almost no TZ with no light inmunes, aside Sanctuary, pits. The pits always spawns those annyoing archers, once one is champion, merc get deleted insta, and even cows usually have king, also cows are not TZ by shard.

Lower Resist
would be an option I guess, even tho an expensive one, after repairing
Teleport
stuff and mercenary who provides Insight aura, money drops kinda fast.

I guess I could go with that for a while, then do some pindle runs to farm money.

Maxroll guide is pretty good, but it assumes you get Griffon, Infinity merc, Sunder and Enigma (plus 7 skillers lol) wich isnt the case yet.

thanks for all the tips, I will post a WTB for a LOD sunder and see if I have some luck, even the lowest cheap sunder light would help a lot.

In SSF you usually don't go single element before you have the sunder.
I'm actually surprised that you got through hell like that. Why are TZs different than the rest of hell?

Playing HC SSF right now.

Hell completed: Sorc, Druid, Paladin, Ama
Nightmare completed: Assa
Normal completed: Necro, Barb

Iron Man (Paladin): Nightmare A1

OP
I
Blaze
throw normal/nightmare/hell with a friend with a blizz sorc, so I take out cold inmunes and her light inmunes, wasnt actually that hard since we overlevel a lot before going to hell, and I used bowazon Ice with some fire as support, wich wasnt half powerfull as java is tbh.

Im on SSF now (just playing together on weekends), and I respected to light java Im not gonna respect back, I guess next season Ill try to get the sunder first.

Honestly, on SSF I would try to farm the sunders with a build dealing magic damage, since there are hardly any immunes (most notably
Baal
wave 2). So he does not need a sunder. But he can find the sunders for your other builds.

So basically Hammeridn or Miasma/
Abyss
Warlock. I would go for the latter. It's faster, safer and easier than Hammerdin who needs lots of fcr and repositioning. It's also cheaper since even with budget gear the damage is very high. You don't need a Void or Enigma, you can also just use a socketed +4 Ondal's and Authority, the new Warlock armor runeword.

But of course, finding them will take some time, morethan a couple of hours. The drop rates are much better now, especially if you have a bit of MF, but they don't drop like candy or flawless gems or shards.

Then when you have a couple of sunders for your elemental builds, they can skyrocket, too.

Personally for my SSF I went with a Hammerdin and had like 0 problems aside from the aforementioned
Baal
wave 2, and the tombs can get annoying as well.

Just to toss in, Bonemancer is another viable option along with Hammerdin and Miasmalock.

Otherwise, Mosaicsin can farm anything anywhere anytime under any conditions. Imo it's clunky, but she wrecks all end game content. No sunder needed.

It really just follows the same general Principle of "things get (a lot) easier as you get more gear". Though sunders do take that to the extreme.

Missing gear/sunder? Things take a lot longer, some things might even not be realistic at all (depending on your build).
Gaining gear? Things get a lot easier, some things are still a pain thanks to immunities.
Gaining a sunder? Immunities can be dealt with but lack of gear otherwise still makes it a pain.
Gaining gear + a sunder? Everything becomes easy as pie.

The idea that you may have a hard time getting to that sunder point hence isn't really in disagreement with what D2 (or just about any RPG) progression has been for decades. It merely happens to be just about the most noticeable single-item change, comparable perhaps really only to "gain Enigma".

That said, getting to that point is a LOT easier nowadays, seeing how heralds are now relatively easy to find and shards allow you to go after them in a much larger number of zones in which you don't have to deal with immunities that affect your build. Given, you still won't typically find one in 5 minutes so it remains infinitely harder than the LoD version but you certainly can absolutely now just keep merrily farming non-immune
Terror
zones until you get one. Or keep running the easiest-for-your-build boss to hope for a unique GC (or 7) that way I guess but that's not ideal for many builds (read: those without
Teleport
).

My offline SSF Magezon found a titans so I went with Cold
Arrows
and
Lightning Fury
. It works very well! The stats, items, and passive skill tree match very well and I only spend like 25 skill points on it. The 1% from synergies are comparatively low, so it's quite strong even whithout synergies.
Only "issue" is the gloves. You have to choose between Java, bow, and passive skills...

You could trade for an old (not latent/renewed)
Crack of the Heavens
. Looks like there are a few available for relatively little compared to the new ones.
