When I started playing D2R, I was playing my barb some dude gave me an Enigma and it was in a Haub, he said throw it on your barb it will help out a lot. I did, and I haven't removed it since haha. I love his stupid little kilt

Sooo, my opinion: I like the Gladiator-style Wire Fleece more and it makes more sense to rather protect the knees but keep the upper body "unrestrained" than the other way round. The Great Hauberk looks ridiculous to me and I know of no historical equivalent. Either you go full heavy armor or full light armor or you at least protect your limbs but protecting the upper body heavily and completely forgetting about the lower body and the legs is not a good idea. Your body's centre of gravity would also be too high, the barb could easily lose balance and fall over in battle.
What's also ridiculous is the Mask. It's way too small for a real head to fit into it. And the horns/spikes on the shoulder plates, of course, but these seem to be mandatory in high-fantasy now...
