Rush lvling a character

I don't know the correct term. Leech lvling?

If I want to rush my friend or vice versa, specifically rushing their level, is there a still a way to do this?

I only sort of remember old D2LOD. I think we were able to leech exp well enough, and then they changed it at some point.

I just read what gRushing is, basically using a bumper to get past ancients then get reduced exp in hell Chaos runs.

cRush is using classic.

I don't want to do either. I just want to know if there's a way to leech exp to the desired character in a reasonable way to reach the required levels for hell and nm ancients.

I understand now there's a penalty if you're not in the correct range for an area. Is there also a penalty for when party members are much higher and doing the killing?

No , you can get exp.

The term you are looking for is "powerleveling".

And since time immemorial the "standard" way of doing it is:
1-15: Normal Tristram
15-20: Normal Tal Rasha's Tomb (all tombs, not just one with Duriel)
20-24: Normal The Secret Cow Level
24: Normal Rite of Passage: Quest
25-40: Normal Baal (all waves; optionally Baal)
40: Nightmare Rite of Passage: Quest
41-60: Nightmare Baal
60: Hell Rite of Passage: Quest
61-99: Hell Baal

There used to be another way: killing skeletons summoned by Über Mephisto, but this exploit has been fixed and they no longer give exp.

You can skip this by doing Tal Rasha's Tomb until lvl 24.

If you or your friend's characters have been fully rushed to the end of Hell, then the easiest power leveling is to let the low level follow in Chaos Sanctuary runs. With 3 players in game, it takes ~21 runs to reach level 60, which takes 70~90 minutes. Then you can finish the Hell Rite of Passage quest, and start to do Hell Baal runs.

Within ~5 hours of actual play time you should reach level 85+ ezpz.

I'm playing on Switch with access to a second Switch/Copy so the highest we can get is P3 or P4 if we join someone else's game.

So we'll have to follow what Trang Oul said (which is what I assumed as well) until level 25. Which will probably mean manual leveling since we can't really leech to 25 in Normal.

After level 25 there won't be a penalty for a higher level doing the killing.

Have TZ changed anything though?

NM TZ 71 or Normal Baal from 25 to 40?
NM Baal or Hell Chaos/TZ from 40 onwards?
