I'd go for Obsession + Ars Dul'Mephistos - you still get +6 to skills, 80-90% FCR, 90% FHR, some MF, decent resistances and all the other good stuff.
Obsession + Ars Dul is the comfortable and sensible thing to do.
In terms of raw damage Void wins with +15% magic damage and up to +4 Abyss over Obsession and extras on top ( Enhanced Entropy, Miasma Chain, Sigil Death, Hex Siphon, Bind Demon). A roll in a base like that boasts ~30 % more damage for Abyss.

I play a fire Warlock and wear an Obsession + Ars Al'Diabolos socketed with a Defender's Fire. P8 is a breeze.

Plenty of drops and increased enemy life and damage.
I switch to P1 only for Ubers and Colossus Ancients.
