Maybe...
All warlocks gain a free (and forced) respec
....
The bound demons will all die in the process as consequence...
(So no "old version" Bind Demon)
But everybody can now free respec their now "rebalenced" skills
[..]
I have a question in mind, though: What happens if I bind a cursed Hepasto with Conviction in ladder and carry it into non-ladder?
The ladder/non-ladder part wouldn't make a difference as the patch will apply to both once released.
If they include a forced respec for locks then there's your answer as that would also remove all existing bound demons.
If they don't, then we just don't know how it plays out. They could still remove all bound demons. They could also apply the aura replacement to all existing ones. Or they could conveniently forget about it and leave existing ones as they are, despite being a relic and no longer obtainable in that way.
Either way, IF you plan to attempt to keep a Conviction heph through the patch, make sure you respec based on the changes first, then get your heph again and then just wait and see what happens.
If you don't first respec into 20 pts to bind, odds are it'll run a validity check either way, notice that your skill doesn't support super uniques and will auto-kill him for you even if the patch itself wouldn't. Or at least that's what should happen..no guarantees blizz won't f that up. ^^
