Seriously, anything worth going back to stash and picking this ring up for can't be picked up with Telekinesis.
Things you can pick up: Gold, potions (incl. antidote etc), Arrows/Bolts (?)
Things you can't pick up: Any kind of armor, weapons, shields, rings, amulets, charms, ...
Please correct me if I'm wrong, I did not double check this, it's from the top of my head.
Yep, you're right, unfortunately Telekinesis won't do the trick. Actually, I don't think there even is a way to pick up items that have dropped like that?
