Description

Hi all, maybe someone can clarify.

For the
Pandemonium Event
we do need 3x3 keys, which are usually sold for
Vex
.

Yet there is also the habit to sell 4x3 keysets, as if that means something.

If it is only to sell more keys, then also 5x3 or 6x3 or Yx3 should be seen, which isn't the case.

So yeah the question is: what's behind that 4x3 keyset which I don't get?

Thanks in advance!

4x3 is an established common ask for unid torches by folks who just chain run ubers.

Basically, it gives them the 3x3 needed to go again plus 1x3 for them to keep as a "service fee" so that every 3rd run/torch, they earn a torch for themselves.

5x3+ would follow the same pattern but would generally be deemed too expensive for the simple task of having done the run for you.

That's for LoD anyways. For RotW, the same theory is still true but in reality noone should still be paying 4x3 (or anything) for an unid torch, simply because you have no way of knowing whether that's a worthwhile unid torch or one converted over from LoD that cannot roll warlock no matter what. Sadly, blizzard basically killed that entire economic route with their implementation of RotW (or made it highly questionable at least).

Thanks, that makes sense!

Back in the past, at least on ladder when keys were rather cheap and
Jah
was high, you often saw 6x3 for
Sur
or the like, 9x3 for
Ber
, 12x3 for
Jah
.

Sometimes you even saw 4x4 fir sale and then you tried to explain the issue, usually to no avail.

Thanks for the explanation.
But the second part that ROTW kills the economic i dont agree. An unidentified torch cannot be converted from LoD to ladder ROTW, non? it only converts to non-ladder. So it wont kill the economic for 4x3.

If you farm a torch on LoD ladder and convert that mid-season, it will be an LoD torch on RotW ladder. Same as the early converted annis and the old school sunders to aid the RotW ladder race and whatnot.

Being on ladder doesn't save you from getting ripped off by that if someone decides to be an ass.

Yes, ladder to ladder transfer is possible.
It also has a positive side: There are some old sunders that were converted from LoD ladder to RotW ladder. Without them, latent sunders would be even more expensive and many people would never get a sunder.
