I haven't leveled a warlock yet, but on single player I have a Zod, Phoenix, Flickering Flame all on my Fireball sorc.
I was thinking about leveling a fire warlock, moving all this gear off my Fireball sorc -respeccing her to Nova or lightning (i have tons of light skillers and no fire skillers unfortunately), making an Obsession, and giving the fire warlock a try.
I see all kinds of builds of Echoing Strike warlocks just destroying high player count single target stuff, but the Chaos tree and Apocalypse has caught my eye.
Is it just a farming build or can it do stuff like Uber Tristram and uber ancients?

I could always make a Death and go for the echoing strikes build, i just like the idea of going fire with Obsession and my already existing set of fire options

But you have to have rather endgame gear
Strong hephasto from terrored zone 96 lvl
full res
open wounds and/or posion from mercenary - best mercanary is act1
real problem will be Mephisto
i recomend to try it if you have support for at least first time
from time to time you may have to use heal or Mana Potion, very rearly full recover potion - mostly for mercenary. Some runs will not require any

While I personally find fire locks exceptionally annoying to play (and to play with...f that knockback...), they can absolutely solo ubers. Takes a bit longer than some other builds but certainly doable.
I have almost all gear I need but not a Flame Rift yet.
Could it be done without it?
I don't think Heph is powerful enough to scratch Ubers. I'm not counting Emilio as he will be most likely dead pretty fast.
Or Meph's Conviction it will be enough for Uber Diablo and Uber Baal. Uber Mephisto is not fire immune so his bigger Conviction will not matter.

I could bet they can, but its not the easiest. Summoner 100% can and its quite easy according to some players, Echoing Strike 100% can and quite easily aswell.
Fire is the question mark and think I read something about Void or what ever it is called builds can do ubers aswell.

Uber Diablo and Uber Baal are fire immune, so no chance without a sunder

Even a non-TZ Heph's Conviction at lvl 11 should be enough to break that as you're looking at -80 with a 1/5 penalty = -16 -> drops Baal to 99.
TZ would take it to lvl 12 -> -85 -> -17 -> drops Baal to 98.
Not much of a difference between the two, obviously and either one should work fine without a sunder.
Though you will do less dmg of course as you're looking at 99/98 minus whatever -res you have as opposed to a sunder taking you to 95 minus the same -16/-17 -> 79/78 minus whatever -res you have.
Some of the trash mobs along the way would have higher res that you can't get past with his Conviction alone but you can always skip past/ignore those or let Heph+merc handle them.

I'm at 98.3 into the level 99 race (you'll have it posted on the dedicated thread later this evening, if I'll levet it today).
