Description

Americas Server. Most of the TZ96 shard games show a grey or red dot, indicating pretty bad delay. In one game, the network delay went over 1000+ for me. When my warlock
Teleport
, sometimes it would lag and get stuck.

Even when I make a fresh game with only myself in it, I can see the network delay fluctuates between ~40 to 200.

What is going on, Blizzard? Are we on loaner servers now?

TZ96 games are bot games, wouldnt participate just because I hate to support botters.
America servers are all grey or red for me because im from Finland and my ping is around 200-300, similarly to Asia servers. Both servers can provide connection interrupted randomly, its fun to do dclones on those servers.

Activision blizzard throughout the years has systematically lowered the performance of their servers used for diablo games. This is even happening in the Diablo 4, the connections are garbage.

They go as low and poor performing as possible, until people start to stop playing and then they improve a little and stay at that point. Its the sweet spot; least amount of money spent and players still continue to play.

Two days ago I was doing evening rush game in eu and conditions were atrocious. I disconnected few times through the whole run.

Yesterday i was half through catacomb level when my game suddenly showed door loading screen and I re-entered the game straight to Rouge Encampment.

In response..
Lightning Bolt

Yeah, servers are trash. And RotW seems to have introduced a whole host of issues that look like they might be due to lacking performance, either indicating further worsening server conditions or just fuck-ups during development. Or quite likely both.

Cross-region performance especially is worse than ever.
In-game friends lists can literally take minutes to populate after logging in (esp. on americas for some reason).
De-sync and related random "re-sync-teleporting" is worse than ever.
Things like
Frozen Orb
suddenly do literally 0 dmg every 2-3 out of 5 casts as the game/server doesn't seem to understand that it hit anything.
And so on and so forth...

It ain't pretty.

I'm on a wired, fiber connection that's extremely reliable. I've seen bizarre fluctuations in ping using /ping command. Any other video-game will show a +/- 3 ping variance. This game shows +/- 30 ping variance and sometimes worse. I also notice the frames of the gameplay being busted at times. RotW fixed the bug with
Shenk the Overseer
but the issue is more pervasive. Like @Schnorki suggests all the updates over the years have certainly introduced unintended consequences.

's sorc due to disconnect recently.
I wasn't even in danger when it happened. Only 2 enemies on screen and half a screen away. I guess Emilio ganged up on me when the lights went out...

Looking for a cheap Cure on D2R HCNL? I got some!

I also have 100+ crafted amulets (from cheap to gg) on D2R SCNL. Let me know what you are looking for. 🙂

I agree with your anti-botting stance. I agree that any game would be better without botting.

However, saying "TZ96 games are bot games" in such a matter-of-fact way is a bit of exaggeration, and inaccurate. Similar to how we commonly feel about most general blanket statements (this statement itself included).

After reaching certain point in the game progression, TZ96 games naturally become what many players do, myself included. There are TZ96 split mf games, TZ96 shard games, TZ96 icow u mf, etc etc. I myself have spent a good amount of time joining/hosting shard games. People would pop a shard and claim a juicy zone or two for themselves, and let others take over the rest. In those games, people would link share their loots, fight over zones, chat, vent and trash talk etc etc. I dare to say that the majority of these toons I have encountered were not bots, and I sure do not classify these games as "bot games".

Everyone can choose their own way to play. I fully respect your choice of not participating in TZ96 games for the reasons you believe.

No, participating in TZ96 games by its own nature doesn't imply anything about supporting botters.

But I digress. This post was just a simple note about how bad the servers have become after yesterday's Battle.net and server outage. That's all.
