I found two. Both in LoD, single player P8 Cow runs. One with a Poisonmancer. One with a LF Zon. Within 10 or 15 hours of each other while doing a rune finding tournament at the SPF. Needless to say I won. Crazy luck.
Only one I ever found was in single player on players 7 and it dropped from terrorized Radament. I was stunned.

Once in P1 tristan with my javazon, I just spread my Javelin on the elite groups and BAM, a Zod.... I was surprised and I keep waiting for another high runes to drop there..but nothing so far.
My first online D2R Zod rune drop, non TZ CS, happened on 23/01/2024. I restarted my bowazon (missed out using Buriza during her journey to equipping Windforce) and was leveling her. The last Doom knight to drop dead, and he popped it out just like that.
My first ever Zod rune was from online classic LoD, around year 2000-2001. I was leveling my horker barb doing Baal runs. I killed some poison Skeleton mages from the waypoint, switched to 2× HOTO and looted it from one of the corpses.
I found one in a chest in terrorized Jail Level 1 (I open all the chests). RotW P2 Europe 20th of March 2026 at around 11:42:06 PM Server time. My time was around 12:42:06 PM I think.

i started playing about 4 months ago and have been addicted ever since. while playing with a buddy last night, i cashed in my life's worth of luck in the span of a few hours...
my first Zod, my first Cham, my first SOJ... absolutely unfathomable luck. i went out and bought a lottery ticket today
Found my first Zod in 20+ years of D2 when playing online alone.
It dropped from cow King when terrorized. He also dropped me an unique Sacred Armor at the same time (Not Tyrael's Might, but I guess I shouldn't complain.. I've prolly used up all my luck this year?)
I was level 95 when it happened, sad thing was this happened just few days before the launch of RoTW, so I missed the chronicle for Templar's Might QQ
