Since there is always a jewel dropped after you defeat them, to get defender ones, you just need to kill Colossal Talic last. And after that, isn't a 50/50 chance to get a Defender's Fire jewel?
Am I wrong about this? Or there is fixed formula that set the chance of fire on drop to be 1/64?

No you’re right, it’s 50/50.
But the odds of getting the “wrong” one six times in a row, which is what happened to the OP, is 1/64.

For softcore, if you die in the middle of fight, and you don't want to get killed again, then stay outside for a period of time, they will despawn, then you can safely get your body.
Before they despawn, I think you can still fight them if you get your body back, but I highly doubt if you can without preparation. No idea if they get back to full hp after you die.
Ok, got my one done, didn't die (but did drank a few full rej pots just to be safe) so couldn't verify the details above.
But how disappointing.... I was looking for fire and of course things did not turn out the way I want in RNG games.... (AND not to mention the sad roll QQ)
The only bright side is probably the drop updated my chronicle... XD

I know the math. But I heard another guys got 6 biles out of 6 runs. Just wanted to know if anyone got more fires than biles as the drop rate can be easily manipulated.
I did a short run of these yesterday, and out of Talic I got 1x Poison & 3x Fire. Total run gave me
Targeted Talic:
1x Poison - 9% PSN
3x Fire - 1x 9%. and 2x 7%
I think what the OP is getting at is the drops were bugged. 6 runs to get 6 Biles sounds a lot like D4's Tempering & their flawed RNG.
I did die a couple times when using my Warlock, but I was on the last one so I did 3x summons & merc to distract while I ran to get body, and then ran right out of portal to reset everything and go back in. If you leave it is 100% reset back to start. Madawc was the most difficult to target as he got killed multiple times as I had targeted Korlic first.
Now if they could fix the bug with the Protector Stone I would be happy, but for now I have two useless sitting in stash stones (and a COA ready to accept one of them)

6 biles in 6 runs at a working, non-bugged, fully intended 50/50 chance will happen to 1 out of every 64 people getting 6 jewels off Talic.
There is nothing unusual or unexpected about that. The odds of being that 1 person in 64 are...well, 1 in 64, so really not that low. It'll inevitably happen to quite a few people, no bugs involved.
Everyone who thinks that 1/64 is so low that it "must be a bug" if it happens is thinking about chance & probabilities the wrong way.
Imagine 64 people are doing 6 Colossal Ancients runs each, all killing Talic last. On average, one unlucky bastard of these 64 people will get 6 Defender's Bile. One lucky bastard will get 6 Defender's Fire. But again, this is on average. Imagine these 64 people doing 6 runs each multiple times - the first time they do it maybe nobody gets 6 Defender's Bile, the next time maybe three people get 6 Defender's Bile. RNG is RNG. There's no Black magic that makes it average out over a low number of trials (and yes, 6 is a low number of trials). Yes, the chance is very low if you limit your scope to yourself only. It's not if you widen your perspective. You need to have far more data before you can draw any conclusions.

The problem is you are looking for fire, if you start looking for bile, fire will drop. Unfortunately its too late to start doing this since you already have a bunch of biles.
