Can be used to make Runewords:
To be honest: Probably I could do that with nearly no effort (maybe I need a few more bases and I would have to go on ladder, too) but I guess I never will. I am just too much of a swabian German guy to "waste" the runes for this... 
After a 20 year break from D2 I started playing D2R in 2024 with my sons (9 and 10 years old)

That's what the trading website is for though. Runes are pretty easy to come by here. Lots of items can be traded for runes. Like, I traded an ethereal 4 socket Thresher for a Jah last week for example. Found a lot of stuff I could trade for mid runes as well. It's not too bad, but you do have to trade a lot to get the runes you need. Oh, I agree. Though it's possible people just had Jahs from back in the day and didn't use 'em. Who knows. I do know one person who's gotten a Jah drop, but the highest I've ever gotten was a Lo. Tbf though, I haven't been doing cows much either, nor "special chest" runs. . . .or High Council runs. This is the nature of variance my friend. I found 2 Jah in an hour during 3x Hell Cow Level runs. That is just nuts. I have NEVER found anything good from cow levels.
