Description
I know this seems scummy however, it has good reason. I was in normal with 6 other baby characters when some high lvl invades and goes hostile with us. Thankfully, I remembered the game name and came back with my own high lvl and managed to kill them and get them to leave. Is there some weird thing with killing low lvls that I'm unaware of or is it just a bad D2R member?

Leave it to blizzard to create an achievement that essentially translates into "stomp low lvl noobs and be an annoying twat".
Funny thing is, well on Xbox at least, you get the achievement from picking up an Ear...not from killing a player.
I regularly make lobby games with ears for people to pick up so they don't do this exact thing to low-lvl players.

Once I killed an hostile user without notice 
He became Hostile while I was afk and I didn't see... I started to Strafe the monsters in Travincal and ... bam ... an Ear appear
