Is Pride a good Act 2 Merc weapon for Echoing Strike Warlocks?

Description

I've seen many builds that uses Pride to boost their displayed damage. But we all know that damage numbers don't always tell the full story. ES Warlock can easily obtain plenty of damage output that wipes out most things within one or two strikes, so QoL has more weight as far as I am concerned.

Question for the previous and current Pride users out there: Do you think Pride adds much to your build? Does it make your in-game life easier?

Some concerns I have seen:

- Pride has lower damage compared to other RW such as Insight, which means your merc leeches less, hence has weaker survivability. It would be annoying if your merc keeps dying in slightly tough situations.

- Pride can "replace curses with its blinding attack and freeze effect". Is this something actually noticeable? I sure want to keep the
Amplify Damage
curse from my Heph going without such interruption.

Please share your experience and Insight.

it will depends on how you use Pride.
I am not familiar with warlock.

But for the use, Pride will override curse and it is very obvious. But it only affect 1 monster. if you want focus 1 monster and need amp, Pride is out.

Conc aura is okay but it is very similar to might aura, damage add is very similar.

if you put two merc fight , Insight merc will beat up Pride merc.

Damage wise, dual Last Wish vs Pride + might aura. That I can tell you dual Last Wish win. But it does not win the way you image, they are very similar.

I run Pride for long time, it is very good and not good in many ways.

Please be aware, all my trade is in non ladder d2r. Not warlock.

Pride
Concentration
aura will give you the largest dps gain of all the a2 merc weapon options. If you're killing stuff so quickly that your merc doesn't have a chance to get in a couple hits, it shouldn't matter what his damage is for the purpose of leeching life because he won't get an opportunity to. If you look at some of the most common scenario's where your merc would likely die, for example, getting melted by council hydras or getting swarmed by cows, life leech isn't going to help him because he simply cannot leech life back fast enough to replace life lost in those circumstances. Life leech on your merc shines against chip damage. To keep your merc alive in circumstances i mentioned above, you will need to gear him accordingly, ethereal
Guardian Angel
+ Flickering Flame for hell council, ethereal
Shaftstop
or Treachery + 20% DR
Vampire Gaze
or Delirium (curse confliction here) for hell cows. Or you will need to babysit him through the use of
Teleport
to reposition him away from danger.
