Blood Boil cannot kill your minions. If they are very low on life you can still use this skill, and the minions will keep at least 1 life (or some very low amount - visually an empty life bar)
Due to the large amount of fire immune monsters in the game, there is a school of thought where putting hard points into Blood Oath for the synergy is less effective than Engorge.
As a warlock you can use Sigil Lethargy or a cursed bound demon to break physical immunity, and the physical component will also be buffed by these effects.
Ranged demons also make a poor choice if you plan to use this skill, as they will stay out the effective range of the skill, consider using 2 Summon Goatman and a melee bound demon.
