PSA: Mosaic now works on Non-Ladder

Mosaic is now possible to make on Non-Ladder since patch 3.1 that was released earlier today - it was been tested and confirmed on both RotW and D2:R (i.e., whether you have the DLC or not).

However, do note that the other rune words that are ladder-only remain so - I have personally tested Cure and Hustle (Hysteria/Mania now), and both resulted in gemmed items on Non-Ladder (tested in RotW).

So NL will be able to make Mosaic for a couple hours until ladder starts tomorrow? haahaa

Edit: Just made 3x Mosaic on NL in bases I was told was stupid to hold on to because Mosaic was never going to be available on NL. Huzzah

OP as it is (until you look at locks) and much as I don't use it myself and don't plan to, really not wanting a repeat of the LOD population split between the "has old stuff, gets to dominate forever" and "doesn't have the old stuff, doomed to a fate of simply always being 2nd tier".

You're right about the hoarders, but OTOH the choice used to be simple (sort of): play NLD with all your hoarded stuff, but miss LD items (unless you traded for them, but they were expensive), or play LD with resets, but all the content.
Now you need to choose whether to play NLD with exclusive content or LD with exclusive content.

The good - average roll doesnt have big difference, but base does . All price is in base. Mosaic will be very low pricing now. maybe slightly lower than Grief market.

Greater Talons with +15 to Lightning Damage, +3 to PS and some 1-2 additional Skills for 2

the performance between +3 nix plain and bottom roll and the good roll is not very big. In 1p , they might be same.
+3 nix + bad roll x2 If shopping in market for month, I think there will be able to get them around 1

Also...if people look for just enough to play 1p, they can try 3 os claw with trap skills claw.
If it works, cong, you get just enough Mosaic claw in 1p and future trap runeword base.

You're assuming Mosaic would now be a NL-exclusive when there's a very real and likely chance that much like any other "previously ladder only" runeword, it is now simply available in both.

They already added a new flag to the rune words file which specifically marks rune words as not available on ladder - and Mosaic is the only rune word with this flag set.

I.e.; previously, there was only a flag for indicating whether a rune word was ladder-only or not, but now there's a second flag which marks rune words as not available on ladder.

I haven't played ladder. Was Mosaic a problem in ladder? I mean: where there only Mosaic assassins running around, killing everywhere everything? Everybody was playing Mosaik assassin only? If not, then just leave it as it is. Its probably nice to have an overkill char but i could imagine people move on...

I think you can spend a small amount of runes to just make cheapest Mosaic. Afterall it is just 2

Ist per claw, totally ok to make it in any 3 socket claw.
And I have feeling in 1 player or 1-4 player mode, the performance is same to perfect Mosaic base.

Mosaic was seen as a problem by the "die hard" tribe because it let the casual player having the chance at farming efficiently with a "cheap" runeword. Think about it : assassin can tele so no need for Enigma, assassin has multiple damage type so no need for sunder charm, assassin has

Fade so no need to look for perfect resist rolls. Highest rune you need is

Gul, and well with a bit of luck with hellforge quest you didn't even need to find some super rare item to trade it for a

Gul.
Was it overpowered ? I will say no, i have a few chars dealing more damage than my HCNL assassin (hello amazon), yet none of those chars are on the nerf list.
What is "overpowered" with Mosaic assa is you could finally do whole D2R content even as a casual/noluck/notgodly items character.
Mosaic assa becomes godly when you can equip Enigma/arach mesh/etc, but same goes for other classes.
Of course, suddenly and without playing 24/7 you could farm very fast best areas in D2R.
I never thought the Mosaic assa was the best specialist, it was just able to do it all.
And no, not everyone and his grandpa or grandma was playing a Mosaic assa on ladder, but yes the ones reaching level 99 and the ones farming efficiently the first were assassins.
