Favorite Demon sidekick

I know I should probably have Hephasto or Lister but when i saw her I just knew she was the one. Who is your Demon pal?

As you well pointed out, it pretty much gets defaulted to Hephasto.

Lister is cute and all but his model is too big, causing him (and subsequently your merc) to get tele-locked so that's just unacceptable. Heph doesn't have that problem.

Plus Heph is far easier to get a hold of, not only due to faster access but because he always rolls with an aura (in case you're <20 on bind).

Any ranged demon would immediately be disqualified as ranged AI just blows. See A1 merc and whatnot. Plus even if they'd optimize that a bit more and get them to at least attack more, they'd still try to stay at range, meaning you lose the insane benefit of an effectively invulnerable tank that mindlessly charges at absolutely everything.

2nd place would probably go to an Urdar or something for easy CB.
Though tbh, I haven't even tried them all yet. Cursed fana Heph is just too good for now. And the interesting alternative options tend to be far harder to farm, thanks to lack of a reliable (super-)unique source.
I'll take a closer look again eventually for sure and play around with the rest. But even then, anything ranged is a hard pass.
