This is how it started. Very promising start from normal TZ, so I terrorized A1
As soon as I entered A1 this happened. It was two heralds standing next to each other.
After full act + one extra rotating zone im after 8 heralds and drew the ire for 9th but current tz is in a1 so i have to wait 20 minutes.
Best Herald drop so far: unique Devil Star

I have 20 heroes, all of them geared up and level 95+. All of them were able to play terror zones without an issue in D2R. In RotW, most of them are trash now. I am sticking to my Java, since she is the only one not struggling here.
Bowazon? Merc gets killed in 2 seconds, then I am kiting for like 5 minutes.
Barb? Yeah, have fun being encircled by 20 mobs with Concentration or Thorns. Attack once, retreat, drink potion, repeat. Great gameplay. You better get some Draculs, its impossible without Life Tap!
Sorceress? Teleport-Kiting contest winner of the year.
Zoo Druid? Hm, your minions are tasty.
Dragondin? Works. Can do Tier 5 Heralds with a bit of caution. Second best of my heroes behind the Javazon.
Fissure Druid? Hard but doable.
Trapsin? Same as Sorceress.
I'm actually glad to see this post Dasnarf. I have only played my barbarian since ROTW dropped and i've killed probably 20 heralds. I did hork an Arachnid Mesh out of a Herald of Terror (lvl 5 Herald) but so far that's the only drop I've gotten worthwhile. Llama has confirmed that the drop rate for sunders is abysmally low and they are going to be addressing that soon.
I have had some serious issues killing the lvl 5 heralds on my barb, i can do it, but it does use a lot of potions. I have been playing on p5 so i'm not sure if that affects the heralds or not (i assume it does)
I am actually considering dropping Arreat's Face, off hand Lawbringer, and War Traveler's for guillame's face, a 2nd Grief, and gore riders for Herald hunting
For many players and many builds, the Sunder is almost a requirement. Yet starting now that requirement is almost non-existent. When the ladder resets we will see a lot more unhappy campers. You need 'power' to run through TZ, you need 'power' to combat the Herald, but this is all for an item that is required to even be viable for a lot of players.
Best fix would be for a classic Sunder to be brought back, something more easily found or traded for. Then players can do this end game quest to upgrade their plain one. But the drop rate appears to be still too "holy grail" for my tastes.
It seems like they are reworking crafting in general, making it possible to roll -enemy res on all craftable gear and charms. But if this is not ready at ladder start, I guess most builds will hit a wall in hell. It appears those new sunders are very powerful (ofc not found one yet) and the idea to me seems like a good approach, making crafting mandatory until you have that godly new charm, which is quite rare and also should feel like a big upgrade.
But if they don't have that ready until Friday, this very well might be season of the eldrich warlock and smiter pal.
Edit: A thought that came to my mind. One approach also could be to give us back the legacy sunder charms and make heralds drop a material, that enables us to reroll them to the new version.
