Uncertainty about item values: anyone else feeling thrown of?

No data yet

2

Description

With all the new items, new recipes, and new uses for old items (e.g., Mang Song's) is anyone else feeling really uncertain about proper trading values? It makes it more fun in a way, as there is room to find good deals, but also leads me to have this constant nagging feeling that I'm selling things for too cheap.

What are your experiences?

Can be used to make Runewords:

Give it another week or so and you should start to see some consistency emerge in the new market. For example, I think most of the recent
Zod
trade offers reflect the fact that the rune’s value has spiked.

The warlock focused unique and set items may take a little while longer to settle out as a lot of folks are just rushing to pick them up.

It depends,
the old item Mang Song's , rising price because people back play and try it out.
In long run, it is just okay thing. Still good but not worth that much because of peak early use.

The other thing, you need watch is small charm and jewel market(already big impact). Some people store value in small charm....in my expectation, the less good small charm have chance to beat all perfect charm in future. Due to the new craft system. As for the 33
Jah
per charm in current pricing, that I can say, in new world, they no longer perfect. Need to re-roll with new receipt. It can become 100
Jah
per charm or something we dont know.

Please be aware, all my trade is in non ladder d2r. Not warlock.

People have had years of stacking up Wealth with little to nothing left to spend it on.

Plenty of them blowing tons of
Jah
runes to get their warlock stuff ASAP is no surprise, now that they finally need things again and have a reason to spend.

That'll die down naturally as warlocks become "just another class" and you stop seeing 8 of them in every single game and once more lock items enter circulation. Likely especially on NL after next season as there'll be basically an entire population of ladder players worth of lock gear flowing in, seeing how everyone and their mom will make it their ladder main this time around, only to then give away their loot afterwards as usual.

Additionally, you have the never-ending supply of random streamer bobs going "OMG MOST OP THING EVER!!!" with their half-baked, far from optimized, typically incorrectly geared builds, causing folks to create a buying
Frenzy
for whatever said streamer bobs used, only to later realize that there are far better options that they could've gotten for cheap instead.

Well-worded.

Sell EVERYTHING.
I don't need to play the expansion to realize: It's a seller market.
Very little supply meets huge demand.
Huge amounts of money meets little supply.
-> Grossly inflated prices.

Sure, there may be one item that you sell now that will increase in value.
But 99 out of 100 items will drop HEAVILY in price in the next weeks and months.

So the more and the faster you sell stuff, the better you'll be off on average.
To keep stuff because you are afraid to sell it too cheap is the worst thing you can do.

this is kind of right, but not all situations.
the op is trying to get the peak value of items.(it can go up steady until ladder down )
So if a risker taker try to get win, he can sweep whole market and sell it slowly just make sure every thing out before next ladder down.

I see some of my internet friend , they did that to
Zod
. I certainly don't do it. Just put my small extra thing into this red-hot market.
(
Zod
, profit 4
Ist
per
Zod
transition, he has habit to stack
Zod
month ago because of failure making price go up at that time, it is failure trade at that time, ends up full of
Zod
in stead of
Jah
, and he offline because
Zod
cant used in reasonable way at that moment)

Mine story is kind of different, I was stacking keys , because I was planning to hand over my to second owner to play.(my family)
And now...
Key
price is kind of insane. I already stack kind of reasonable
Key
but still.. even with very expensive price compare to past. (200% up)
My
Key
go out 50% I stored just one afternoon. Now I have to reserve some 'not for sale' for my brother.

The warlock torch price just ridiculous...I can understand why people feel
Key
cheap...(Even if I think it is bad torch and way crazy
Key
price)

Please be aware, all my trade is in non ladder d2r. Not warlock.

Im selling everything as well right now. Once the market stabilizes I'll start buying back again.

Sold a bunch of 3x3 sets for
Jah
and
Ber
.

Can trade on PC and PlayStation.
7
sold keysets for bers, surs and jahs. will drop relatively soon when runebuyers and stackers got their torches, in 2 weeks from now, maybe
Lo
for a set

sold shards for 2
Ist
each, already down to 1
Ist
now for the most part, will drop even further rapidly because they are not at all rare.

sold statues for a
Jah
each i believe that was a 1-time great deal.

as WedgeAntilles said.
Sell god dammit sell sell sell, don't try to get the best deal, all the deals are far better now than they will be in just acouple of days to weeks from now.

i believe that
Zod
and
Cham
will drop rapidly as well, stabilize at usual price or maybe 4
Ist
for
Cham
and 8
Ist
for
Zod
in a couple of weeks or so.

WHen the new ladder start, most prices will probably stabilize.

I remember when we used to trade in PSkulls or
Chipped Gems
as currency.

Also with the new ladder season in a few days, I'm sure it'll shake out just as it always does. People have spent 25+ years playing this game and theory crafting everything.

It's just gonna take time before a baseline is set. Time to get back to the old way of haggling and figuring out what works

As an economist, I really have to restrain myself not to sell my organ sets... 😉
I am confident that there are some guys who would hand me 60
Jah
for getting all 60 sets 😁

After a 20 year break from D2 I started playing D2R in 2024 with my sons (9 and 10 years old)

it is around that price , yes, I just sold x n keys for that price, slightly lower . but consider the effort of playing it.
it is about right.

I haven't calculate the statically chance but my roughly peek on warlock torch alone, the buyer will win by buying 60 sets 60
Jah
.

Dont you feel this is crazy....month ago, those keys is no one wants. or like 20-30 average.

Anyway, it is good pricing, maybe you can consider sell some , the price will fall after a month or so.

I remember those days too...when playing HC was extra insane because of terrible internet connections.
